I own a 3DS because to me, gameplay is king, and all the hardcore franchises I love ended up there.
If I had bought a WiiU I wouldn't been mildly satisfied, if I had bought an Xbone I would be pretty sad and if I had bought a Vita/PS4 I would probably not be on this earth anymore.

As a Nintendo fan that usually goes full Idort, I don't trust Sony until games are out anymore.
They've lied to me too many times and shown too many bullshots. So if I get hyped about an "announcement" or "Trailer", I'm just going to get burned again like I have many many times in the past
For example, I bought a PS3 because Last Guardian was supposed to be out shortly after the PS3s release and I loved SotC and Ico
$599 because they promised me a sequel to some games i loved would be out.
On multiple occasions they showed Last Guardian at E3, apologized that it was taking so long, and promised that it would be out very soon.
Guess what I never got on my PS3?
In fact, I didn't get much on my PS3 at all because I also owned a 360 and good computer, so the multiplats weren't all that attractive, especially since I find the DualShock pretty uncomfortable.
So, essentially, no, I'm not going to get hyped and excited about Sony 'announcements'.
I get hyped about Sony stuff when the games are out and confirmed good, not before.

About 90% of the potential games are right out because I could never play anything requiring skill on such a garbage handheld. I actually have a hacked PS3 and really have a hard time finding good games to play that I didn't already have on my Xbox 360 or PC
The only exclusive games that I really really enjoyed were Demon's Souls,Journey and Katamari Forever, which is the best Katamari game yet.
3D Dot Game Heroes, MGS4 and Valkyria Chronicles were alright too I guess, but certainly not console sellers, especially now that Valkyria Chronicles is multiplat too.

No idea about the Xbone, but I know the PS4 has enough exclusives to make people enjoy the console. It might not be the most exclusive-heavy console, but there are 5-6 games I've enjoyed on the system to make it worth having both a PS4 and a PC.

With all things considered, my PS3 and PS2 still get the most use, although my toaster could catch up with them if it had a more convenient access to my couch and TV.

It's fine though because all I play is CS:GO on lowest settings, 2hu, and BMS, none of which are demanding.
I've gotten to 99C playing GTAV on lowest settings though.
