A Christmas gift 8 years ago. Still going strong, recently replaced the horribly worn out ear cups with the super comfy Brainwavz HM5 pads. New set aren't a priority right now, but it'll probably be the HD 598 SE.

I've not seen anyone else with these, but they're extremely good in terms of sound. Best I've ever owned (so HP50 >> HD280, HFI 580, and ATH-something)

However, the build quality isn't where it should be for a headphone of it's price, so I'm not sure I can recommend
>>
>>336228739

I own my own house, never used headphones.

Cute Miku mate
I use Logitech G933s, they're pretty nice
>>
I bought a pair of ATH-WS55s recently. They sound great, but they're bloody uncomfortable.

I'm wearing these now. Only issue is they break easily and they're terrible for taking out of the house. One headphone falls off all the time and I have to jam it in place. Super comfy for long periods though.

>>
>>336232428
Not really. They're pretty forgiving headphones compared to some treble cannons.

At high volumes better is always better though.

>>336228739

Well, yeah.
How are the treble on these anyway? I always hear about the soundstage and bass more than anything else.
>>
>>336233089
Peaky at around 10k (pretty high, not sibilant) which some call artificial sounding. Not that noticeable on casual listening. I use equalizer settings which make so it doesn't bother me on any volume.

Otherwise they're pretty neutralish. Bass is mentioned so often only because open headphones usually don't have that much of it.

Not really unless your files are around 5 years old.
MP3 sounds fine when it's a fresh rip, it has a shelf life of around half a decade before it starts to decay and gather artifacts.

X2's are really comfy, sound great, fantastically open giving you a big advantage over general gamer trash headsets. They may be hard to drive so bear that in mind.

Your mp3 files should be safe.

I like them. the only downside seems to be that my ears start hurting after 3 hours, don't know if me using glasses have something to do with it.

Its like wearing nothing, sound is perfect for games
bass is weak though
>>
>>336234592
They're a meme for a reason - great for a balanced sound, although I wouldn't say they're ideal for vidya, more for amateur home music production.
>>
>>336234701
