I've had this issue sealed up in my closet since it released. The feeling of reading Nintendo power is one I haven't felt in a long time. Let's have a Nintendo power thread. What are you're favorite memories about it /v/? Sometimes I wish I could leave this hell hole and rely only on NP for my vidya news like before

>threw them out when I was in middle school/high school

I wish I could go back and read them again

Nintendo's dead, bro.
The fact that they're going mobile and more amiibo focused campaigns shows they're only in it for the money now.

>>
>>336215304
I did the same thing, but there's certainly scans on the internet.
>>
>>336215315
they always were

when it wasn't amiibo it was buying multiple GBA's to play zelda, Mario soda, so many different versions of the gameboy,
>>
>when I was younger I used to always go to my grandmas house over long weekends and breaks during school
>I'd read my latest issues of Nintendo Power cover to cover and then we'd go and she'd let me pick out any game that I wanted
>I played so many games that I never would've played otherwise because of that
>Nintendo Power has been dead for years now
>My grandma has been dead for over a year now

I want to go back.

Is Nintendo Force any good?
>>
>What are you're favorite memories about it
I've only flipped through one that my friend had way back but I still remember reading something to the effect of:
>we're raising the price of the N64 because there isn't much demand for it
It stuck with me because, since I don't know how economics and industry work, that sounded like a retarded decision.
>since nobody wants to buy them, we're gonna raise the price
>which will only make it less desirable to buy
>>
>>336215304
I'm would honestly be interested on how Nintendo power would cover all of Nintendo's recent shitty decisions. I know Hoffman would probably make a mega man amiibo custom of his OC

If it's a niche product, that core niche is typically willing to pay much more than the average customer for it. N64 became pretty niche compared to playstation so they sold at niche prices.

For the same reasons, anime bluerays are a gorrilion dollars.
>>
>tfw still have all of my NP's in stacks in my closet
>tfw bought the last issue and legitimately teared up a bit after finishing it
>>
Man I miss it. I bought a copy of issue #2 years ago too and keep it on my desk
>>
Remember those Pokemon mini-magazines that came at the back of Nintendo Power's for a while around when Red and Blue came out? That shit was so cash. Got me super hyped for the games.

It also said that Sandshrew was in Red version. Literally the only reason I bought Red.

He was stupid to think he could get dating advice from a ds game
>>
>>336215678
If be fucking hype too. Did you see the street pass after leaving or before? If before, did you look for him?
>>
>>336216369
CWC was featured in Nintendo Power? I can't find anything about that on his wiki page. Do you remember the issue?
>>
>>336216442

Before. Unfortunately wasn't able to meet him. I was able to interview Kenichiro fucking Takaki though.

I'm going again this year so I'm definitely shaking that mans hand and thanking him for inspiring me.
>>
>>336216617
It was the twins snakes issue iirc, he sent in a letter asking if a dating sim on the ds could help him talk to girls in real life. He also showed off the animal crossing town in another issue (forgot which one)
>>
>>336216337
But Mystery Dungeon was good, Anon.
>>
>>336216741
Do you know what issue number that was?

I remember those "Write Away, Right Away" sections had letters describing the alleged powers of Nintendium.

>some truck somehow end up backing up over the original GameBoy in the garage and it still worked
>another got thrown off onto the yard off a two story building and left th>ere over the winter, sound is muted but still in working condition
>mfw back then

I also remembered my own experience of my DS Metroid Prime Hunters surviving through the washer in my jeans.

I dont sorry, I threw my issues out ages ago thinking I wouldn't miss them later on. Spoiler: that was not true.

I'm honestly jelly. I've been wanting to go to e3 since forever after reading about it on NP as a kid. Now that I'm older and can do more shit I'm planning on going next year since I couldn't go this year because I didn't know you had to get badges so early. Meeting Hoffman there would be icing on the cake.

>>
>>336217183
Oh wow, I think I remember reading this.
>>
>>336216815
Exactly,it was good and it was the only game that ever got me to shed a tear
>>
the only game magazine I was ever subbed to was gamepro. I used to stay up well into the night listening to the radio and 90's alternative and pop punk while reading about new games coming out like RE3. Fuck I miss being a kid.
>>
>>336215742
But wouldn't it make sense to lower the price so more people can afford to buy it on top of whatever system they have?
>>
>>336217343
The exploding heads rating system was pretty rad.
It was always cool to see a game with several of those.

My fiance and I actually found a whole bunch of issues in his house this past weekend. We stayed up all night cutting out all of the walkthroughs from our favourite games and put them into clear files which we then placed into binders. The posters that we really enjoyed are probably going to be framed and displayed into our 'retro room'.

I should have taken some pictures because the way everything looks was beyond awesome.
>>
>>336218252
Ive actually been saving up for e3 for a while now. Plus there's not much I vidya from Nintendo that I want to buy right now anyway. Tax return helps too. I've been looking forward this for a long time,so the price doesn't bother me
>>
>>336218887

Nigger, it might be easier, not to mention cheaper, to fake a business and get in that way.

You'd be paying $1000 to get advertised to. I understand it's the dream and all, but shit man. Not to mention that most of the good demos are restricted to press, and are hidden behind appointments...
>>
>>336218887

>going to E3 now

nigger you're like 20 years too late if you wanted to enjoy it for gaming purposes.
>>
>>336219263

It's still worth it for the swag and the occasional surprise.
>>
>>336219097
Fake a business as in become a click bait using vidya journalist who writes biased reviews? Sounds easy enough, but I'm still keeping the money just in case
>>336219263
Maybe, but it's a childhood goal of mine that I want to go through with
>>
>>336219860

No, no - make a fake business, as in a fake vidya store or something like that.

I don't know specifics, but that's what a friend did for a few years.
>>
>closet's stuffed with old Nintendo Power posters I never took care of as a kid
>it's just a mile-high stack of papers covered in ancient tape n' shit
Now I've learned my lesson, I frame every single poster I get.
I miss Nintendo Power, it was an indication of a simpler time, when video games were a humble industry not controlled by storytellers and sensitivities. I think the moment they stopped publication might be a good indication of when video games and the culture surrounding it began to rot; I'd rather we go back to dedicated magazines like NP, EGM, Tips n' Tricks, Xbox Insider, rather than reliance on all these fake internet celebrites and their cancerous fanbases to push shit.
>>
>>336220008
Might look into it,thanks.

Since this thread is up, any one have a torrent for scans of all the issues? I've been searching for a while but I mainly find things that cover the first 100 and they're usually dead torrents at that.
>>
I remember the advantage of subbing over magazines over using "journalism" sites was that they would cover shit that "journalism" sites wouldn't even bother to
>>
>>336217183
I can hear his voice as I read this. I'm pretty sure they corrected all the points where He capitalises Every other Word, though

I'm glad I did.
I picked up the TTS issue recently to see what they thought of it and flipped through it not expecting to find
