He's pretty shitty mate. If you're building him greedy then you're doing your job as guardian wrong and your team would have won had you just picked a mage or something and went in the duo lane for a kill lane.
His ult gets shut down by a single item and his need for CDR makes builds for him awkward unless you can afford to be greedy.
There's no reason to pick him over someone like Ymir who gets good damage and tons of CC and team fight potential without having to ever build greedy.
