I feel like a big part of the appeal of this series was that it gave the appearance of being esoteric and inaccessible, and I think a lot of the backlash has less to do with how the new community behaves and more to do with the ego damage that's been done to the original fans. They prided themselves on having in depth knowledge of this really difficult, obscure game but when the series took off normal people adapted to it instantly. It's not just that it's not obscure anymore, it's that the illusion that you can appreciate it on a superior level is gone.

The game, at very key points, leaves messages to you. These messages appear whether online or offline. They are marked with a Crown-like symbol.
There is a message that clearly says "the bridge wears thin" or something like that.
As you cross the bridge, a horde of skeletons comes after you. Like,a ridiculous amount. Anyone with half a working brain can put two and two together.
The only tricky area to get to is Archdragon since it is not immediately obvious how and where to activate the right gesture. That being said, it's sensible enough to figure out. There's a strangely out of place Dragon in the dungeon, the only point in the whole game where it happens. You later get a gesture from a drakeblood doing the same position. You could at least try.
Even then, all of that is easy to discover simoly because people leave messages. It's that easy.
