Gamescom is a consumer electronic show, so of course it's fucking bigger.
Last year Gamescom and TGS had historic turnouts too.
E3 is just an industry consumer show, so it always has smaller turnout, and is more focused on selling their company to other industry members to help form partnerships.
It's also interesting to note Nintendo doesn't bother to show up to ANY consumer electronic show like CES, TGS, Paris or Gamescom, only doing E3.
