What went wrong /v/? The game had a lot of promise.
The game was great until about 8 months ago give or take.
Dev team can't decide what to focus on. Lots of shitters on the team too. They flouted their two shitty PvP leagues since the expac but the class balance is shit and everybody knows it (seriously the first league launched before the expac could even settle its feet). WvW is gutted with the new BL having alot of no-fun and nobody has interest in running it. Heart of Thorns was half-baked with 1/10th the story content as base, launching without a lot of promised stuff, and some pretty terribru reward systems that emphasized grinding like a cheap korean MMO.

It's funny how that picture is still 100% true.
They spent the first couple of years trying to force sPVP to be an ESPORT and didn't realize that the really good part of the game that actually had a chance of being ESPORT was WvW. They let WvW stagnate until the good guilds got bored and left.
