How much do you think should be enough to get a good PC to play modern games?
>>
I dropped about $1600AUD on mine, and I won't have to upgrade anything for at least 2 years.
>>
>>336032925

If you already have a decent monitor, around 1000$ to guarantee good gaming quality for the next 5-10 years.
>>
A good PC so you can see tell yourself it was worth the cost over a PS4 or Xbone? $1200-$1600

So just get a PS4 then? I lost everything in a house fire so I'm contemplating what I should get

Another anon, sorry to hear that man... as for console, you'll be paying 400 dollars or so for a gen that might last another 4 years or so? If you can spring for a pc go for it, 100 hundred percent, but if not, console is not nearly as bad as this board makes it out to be, I'll probably get slammed for that. As for price point, anything over 1k USD should be enough for a good pc. Hope I helped in someway
>>
>>336033967
>10 years
Is that even possible?
There'd be all kind of new stuff every 3 years anyway.
>>
>>336032925
500 bucks.
Not shitting you.

Anyone saying you NEED 1k+ are either living in some shitholes, or are some elitist 4k+120fps morons.
>>
>>336035250
I've read that you can't get over 30 fps with a 500 dollar computer, I also would like to emulate ps2 games
>>
>>336034894
You can get a good PC way below 1k, stop shitposting

>Is that even possible?
People have been playing with core2duos and 8800GT up to these days with ease, so yeah.

You've done some bad decisions if you need to upgrade anything every 3 years. Hell, I'm still running my 2011 build (i5 2500 + 8GB + GTX 560ti), and everything still works fine at 1080p.

just get a ps4. on pc you'll still end up paying £70 per game thanks to our Denuvo friends (destroying the only thing pc gaming had good) + u dont get plug & play on a sofa....if i were u i'd get a ps4 neo tho....might as fuckin well wait a couple months

>I've read that you can't get over 30 fps with a 500 dollar computer,
you've heard wrong.
>I would also like to emulate ps2 games
totally doable. You just need a strong CPU, to which even i5 2500k would be enough. And that's a 5yo CPU.

bull-fucking-shit.

How does this look?
>>
>>336035518
>70 euro per game
>implying PC doesn't have the best sales
>implying you wouldn't have to do that on PS4

Also, you can totally plug and play on the couch, you just have to have more than one fucking brain cell
>>
>>336035518
Do eurofags not get sales and g2a?

>People have been playing with core2duos and 8800GT up to these days with ease

You mean up to 2012.

People need to stop pretending that the current-gen consoles didn't hit the reset button on minimum requirements. Shit's expensive again. All these fucks who got into PC buildan in 2011-2013 (most people on this board) seem to think we're frozen in that time period's cost:performance ratio.
>>
I don't know where the fuck these 'PC is expensive' complaints come from.

I build a new PC about every 6-8 years usually with an intermediary upgrade.

Because I'm not buying new keyboard, mouse, display and speakers each time it doesn't cost that much for a new mobo, processor, ram, gpu, psu, case and hard drive.

Price it up sometime.

I think I last spent in the region of £400-500 and that was 1tb hdd, quad core intel i5 3.4ghz or something, 16gb ram, whatever upper mid/lower top level gpu was reviewing well at the time. The gpu and processor was like 3/4 of the money, the rest was practically change. This has been fine for the last 6 years for gaming.

I have about four systems in the house for different purposes and the old ones basically get used to upgrade the others so nothing really gets wasted either.

The next year or two might see me upgrade, but usually I'm wearing out hdd's or bearings on cooling components before the performance becomes an issue.

Also PC is top tier home media system. Emulation, games, films, music, internet etc. Home media server, image editing machine, home studio machine, bedroom media player. Shit is cheap cheap.
>>
around $63,000 JMD is enough to buy a decent computer
>>

>You mean up to 2012.
nope, to this very year, 2016.
And those still doing so could spend < 150 bucks on 750ti or 950 and keep going for couple more years.
