Even so, you're still related to them, by marriage if nothing else.

There's zero implications that's true, at least as far as I've seen.
The game seems to heavily imply that Sumeragi loved and married Mikoto very quickly. And the supports with Yukimaru and Orochi talk about him raising you as a kid. If they waited until Ikona's death after Sakura was born, that's years apart, Corrin would be almost 4-5 by then. Far too old for some of Yukimaru's stories, and also getting too old for Hinoka's memories about him.
He was probably only around 6-8 when kidnapped after all.
Everything just makes way more sense if it's wincest when Corrin slips Sakura the dick.

Most of the VA is fine and most of the complaints are overblown, I even like a good chunk of the replacement dialogue instead of the base one (eg Sophie is fine and I actually really like Kanna's line about "That's dragon for I love you!")
But some of the changes are downright offensive, M-Kanna getting stone cold rejected in his S-Ranks betrays the whole meaning of what an S-Rank is. Soliel being changed from a straight girl who likes cute things, to a... I dunno, she's not bisexual because she's got no interest in marrying girls, but she doesn't seem to want to marry guys either... so who the fuck knows? Was fucking odd.

I like Ryoma's quite a bit, "DIE, NOW!" it's not as flashy, but it suits him. Mostly I just really like Ryoma, he's a fucking badass on top of being a great guy.
Corrin's ones are fairly cool too, I really liked how they change depending on which route you're on, it's a nice touch.

The problem with the DLC is entirely around trying to shoehorn Lilith into it, to make her a key actor in the plot. If they removed Lilith then it would just be that Owain and co had only been in the Fates world for maybe a year or so, which is what the main plot implies. And in that case it'd be FUCKING great.
Because, honestly, it's a solid DLC aside from that.Anankaros summons them to his world, begging them to help save it after having seen them defeat Grima in the Awakening world (it's made clear they're not the Severa/Owain/Inigo WE know, but from a very similar timeline) and as a reward he gives them all a "Wish", something he can grant as a God.
They use their wish to restore the ruined world they came from and to give graves to all those who fell against Grima. Which is fucking great, the idea that even after having stopped Grima the humans left behind in that timeline would be screwed anyway by the ruined ecosystem is really sad, so having it be completely saved and the world flourished is such a great touch.
Other than that, the idea is that they're meant to link up with Anankaros's son, Corrin, and help him collect all the legendary weapons to remake the Fire Emblem. Anankaros thinks he's in Hoshido, so they're going to head there, but they find he's in Nohr so they go there instead. Thus why they join the Nohrian royals.
Without trying to shoehorn Lilith in, that'd be a great plot. It's fun as hell to play too, surprisingly hard but with some cool mechanics.

Each route is really it's own game, the routes are all fairly goddamn massive. Plus you get a pretty huge discount when you buy a second/third route.
IIRC, it's 1st Route = $40, 2nd and 3rd are $20. Or is Revelations $10? Not sure. Either way, it's not as bad as it seems at first and there's a tonne of content in it.
Revelations has been the most fun for me so far, a good balance of Conquest's difficulty with Birthright's non retarded story.

Oh come the fuck on. Ryoma was entirely reasonable in literally every single route. There wasn't a single unfair thing about the deal he offered and even after everything you did to him, his friends and his family he never held it against you.
You betray him, take his country's holy sword and use it to kill his people, you're responsible for the death of his family and he never holds it against you. He's always reasonable, always forgiving and he trusts you right to the end, enough to throw his life away for you.
Compare to Xander who even at the fucking end of Conquest is all "Grrr, I'll kill you if I think you're doing something bad!". Or who instantly tries to kill you when you choose anything but Nohr (and Ryoma only wants to subdue you).

I tend to read them as being about 18 in Awakening's timeline when you first get them. So that's about 19-20 by the end of it (depending when you recruit them I suppose).
All three of them have been implied to have already arrived back a while ago, but even if we assume it's only been a few weeks/months, there's most of the Valmese War to go, then 3-6ish months by boat back to Ylisse, then however long the final war against Plegia/Grima takes. 1-2 years seems a fairly conservative estimate.
So then you put them at about 20ish when Grima dies and they go with Anankaros. Lets put Corrin at about 6-8 now.
That's another 10-12 years minimum before Fates even begins. So they're around 30-32.
So by the end of Fates they're about 34-36ish.
