Thrawns Revenge is good, but others I have tried out are Republic at War, and Old Republic at War. IIRC there was another really good looking mod being worked on right now but it's not finished yet. They are all on IMDB anyways.
Also make sure to get the unit cap mod so you can do proper sized space battles with hundreds of ships. Makes it so much better.
