Too fucking late Valve. Enjoy Overwatch taking your entire playerbase.

Not gonna lie, between Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch, it feels like Blizzard evolved the class-based FPS genre. Valve has had no competition in this genre and it finally took a threat from Blizzard to get them fixing their game. It's too late though, most of the TF2 community is leaving once the game comes out next week.
>>335973609
Theres an option to turn them off in advanced settings I'm pretty sure
>>335973761
No there isn't. Same for DOTA and CSGO. Valve can't afford to hide it because it forces players to want these items as well.
anything else think this is because blizzard is posing a threat to the community of tf2?

Why the hell do vanilla servers exist, then?

It's up 24/7 and usually it's on a schedule of Weekends, Fridays, Thursdays, Tuesdays, and possibly mondays.
Sometimes we'll get a full house but for the last week I've been busy so I don't know how consistent it's been.

Worked, thanks mate

I was super fucking hyped for overwatch, and I got into the beta last year and it was okay. But tf2 is more fun in my opinion.
I know OW will have a massive playerbase because it's fucking blizzard, but it's not actually that fantastic. It's pretty fun, but I like tf2 better and I think lots of people will feel the same way after a short honeymoon period (as I experienced as well)
A lot of the weapons don't feel as satisfying (guns being too easy to aim or don't feel weighty), also movement doesn't feel as much in your control, like airstrafes and explosive/double jumps or surfs like in tf2. it's a fine game but it's not better than tf2, at least for me.
>>335977423
I'm getting Bad Password notification come up when i try

>No custom maps
>No player hosted servers

>Only 5v5 Matches
>No changeable loadouts
>SJW Agenda being pushed behind it because they promise future characters will be more representative
>>335980634
It's 6v6 matches, but the lack of custom servers is pretty shitty.
the loadout thing is a design choice - lots of rigid classes instead of fewer customizable ones; i don't think one is objectively better than the other
wackyraces when?

6v6 only?
To be honest, the more players there are the funner it is.
It makes it harder for the skilled players to make the game stop being fun, since it takes longer for the somewhat skilled to all go onto one team and it makes the very skilled less significant.
Also it means that the game is less about flanking if the player density is also very high.
Having it so that all kills are from players the person killed didn't see isn't fun, since there's no solid counter to being flanked. You have to constantly spin in a totally paranoid fashion and then end up getting killed anyway because you got distracted by someone actually fighting you head-on for once.
Sometimes in FPS games, if I see two people fighting, I might just stand some distance away and wait for them to finish since it's kind of a dick move to take advantage of someone being distracted by a combatant.
