It's not open world, the levels are just bigger.
It's still a corridor, but the corridor is now 10x wider and has multiple paths to the end of each section. Which honestly is what MGSV should have been, actually designed levels that allowed for multiple options, full open world kills level design because you can come at it from too many angles and everything is designed to be user multiple times.
