merely being able to play it after a 10 years wait, I don't even care about the content anymore
I'm mostly excited to be able to tell all my smart friends that won't buy it what a good decision they made.
The demo is janky as fuck
dead on arrival
A story and ending that rivals Crisis Core's in how it made me break down in bitch tears.
A villain to match Kefka, Sephiroth and Kuja. No anonymous spirit tick inside of a whale, no abstract robot gods communicating through tattoos, no weird cross-dimensional beings pulling strings from the other side, just an evil motherfucker who looks cool and makes you sympathize with him or her.
A -PLANET- or actual -WORLD- to explore. Not the border of two nations or hallways that don't explain exactly how everything is geographically connected.

I think the game will be great, but honestly I'm most excited that the game will finally be done and over with. It's been such a ridiculously long slog of a development cycle, I just want SE to be able to move on.
As for the game itself, I'm most excited to explore the game world and see firsthand if the story is all its cracked up to be after all these years.

Do you think Final Fantasy XV will live up to the standards set by The Witcher 3? The Witcher 3 is pretty much the pinnacle of RPG quality, whether it's the icredible OST (goat imo), the vast beautiful world, the attention to detail, the amount of content, the fantastic characters, the deep story, the lore and mythology, the sidequests etc. I feel like The Witcher 3 truly excelled in everything that makes an RPG great and then some (except maybe combat but it more than makes up for that).
I want good music and atmosphere. I'm sick of FPS and soulless open world games and in game purchases.

Witcher 3 has excellent writing, some of the best I've seen in a game. I doubt XV's will come close to that level. Everything else XV could conceivably be better in. Combat is already better. Graphics (compared to Witcher 3 on consoles) will likely be a wash. World design wasn't anything special in Witcher, neither was the OST. XV should top those easily. Amount of content is iffy; personally I think Witcher will win that one. Witcher will likely have better side quests too (that game sets a very high bar in that area). Lore and mythology could go either way.
I fucking loved Witcher 3 (and Xenoblade X, while we're talking recent open world RPGs), and if XV can come close to that level of quality I'll be very happy. I'm optimistic it'll be in the same ballpark.

This. But story-wise, TW series gone the easy path and just adapt the novels. Despite that, CDPR did an exceptional job adapting the story from the novels into a video game. I just really hope, SE nails the graphics department down. Because, from what we've seen, while I don't mind, I can tell people are gonna shit on it. Haven't played TW3 on PS4 though, how did it looked actually?

Comparable to XV. Good lighting, environments are impressive from a distance but have bad textures up close, tons of aliasing and some framerate issues (though it's perfectly playable).

As a long time Final Fantasy fan who has played all main entries (excluding MMOs) and tons of spin-offs and bought all of them at full price some even a couple of times, I have absolutely no interest in this abomination whatsoever. I want this to fail so hard so that Square never again tries to make garbage 10 year in development open-world shit with cars. I don't care about this action hack n slash type of gameplay where the pinnacle of strategy revolves around hitting an enemy then dodge/jump away so that he can't hit you. Also not a fan of this realistic looking world and boring, homogenous, yaoi-bait cast. All the tie-ins, movies, and other garbage just add even more fuel to the fire.

I doubt there will be much disappointment. We've had two demos, so people know what they're getting in terms of gameplay. And we've been getting info on the story and characters for, what, over ten years? Even as someone who enjoyed XIII, it seems clear already that XV is going to be a better game than that was. There will inevitably be some people disappointed like there is with every game (especially here) but I doubt fan reaction will be anywhere as negative as it was for XIII, or XIV, or XII.

I think there will be massive disappointment because there are still people who trust FFXV-kun about the smoothness of the battle system.
We literally have to webm the battle system and character traversal to prove otherwise. The Platinum Demo helped a bit but it still wasn't enough. The full game (complete with shoddy battle system) is gonna be the reality shocker for most people.
The demos are total fucking shit. The "Would you like to order the game?" message at the end of the Platinum demo made my laugh. It's as if they believe they showed a compelling product that would make someone want to actually pay money for it.

The battle system works fine though? It's not super complex or anything and doesn't utilize DIRECTIONAL INPUTS or whatever the fuck he was trying to claim but it's no worse than XII's or XIII's for the majority of the game. And it's certainly better than Witcher 3's combat, and critics and the public alike loved that game.

Opinions. I enjoyed them both, although the Platinum Demo was only because I'm a fan of collectathon platformers and it kind of scratched that itch. It's a drag playing through it again though; I wish they'd let you skip right to the iron giant fight after clearing the demo once.

I think Kyle Bosman summarize the combat reallu well in one of the podcast of Easy Allies. It's a good compromise for those who want to chill and play it simple like the usual JRPG, (hold circle) and for those who want something more flashy, they always have the option to do it. (the direction stick + circle)
Are there cool robots you can pilot? I was promised robots, and Xenoblade dropped the ball by having the robots be background props to the crying anime kids and their cliche high school problems.

Actually I liked Kuja, although I agree for the most part with Seph and Kefka; Sephiroth in particular I don't really understand because he doesn't really have any motivation beyond wahhhh mommy issues mixed in with strawman nihilism. I don't really get "evil for the sake of evil" villains in general but particularly in a series which is renowned for pushing the boundaries of narrative and worldbuilding in games and interweaving philosophical threads it just doesnt make sense to me at all.

Space Pope def sucks but Yu Yevon was pretty good, just not spelled out explicitly enough for Western audiences. Occuria are amazing but handled somewhat awkwardly; it felt like they should've gotten more screentime or something even though that would kind of invalidate the whole "manipulating history from the shadows" shtick, idk. But the real star of that game and the best villain out of all FF is hands down__Vayne/Cid__

Im actually not really excited for it.
Gameplay is not fun and overly complex yet somehow too simple.
Story doesn't really grip my interest anymore, at the beginning, a roadtrip with bros sounded awesome. But all I see is driving in a grassy field and there isn't really a goal. I think they have to get to Luna or something? Don't know why. Doesn't seem like any sense of urgency to get there.
I only preordered it because its going to be the hot new game everyone talks about. So I will play it so I can be part of the discussion. Whether I enjoy myself or not doesn't really matter.
I just watched a few videos and trailers.
I've never played a FF game but this looks pretty good. I'm really excited for the movie too.
