I don't know, it felt lackluster to me. It definitely didn't reach its potential.
I did enjoy it though, the atmosphere / mood of it is just extremely comfy and relaxed, it felt great moving on to a world like this after I had been playing and 100%ing something gritty as fuck like Bloodborne for the past month.
The combat was its weakest aspect for sure, I'm glad they are trying to improve it in GR2 but what I hope for more is that they put more emphasis on the things that worked best in the first game, like exploration, platforming and racing. Give us more incentive to do these things, make them more rewarding, and make them more of a core part of the game instead of just combat. Combat took priority over the fun things in the story missions of the first game, hopefully it won't be as monotonous or boring in GR2.
