The only similarity is that if you've played Souls, you can play BB. Souls has nothing like the trick weapons, or the pace that BB has. Where Souls focuses on being slow and cautious, BB makes it so that you're always on your toes. I'd say BB is like the love child of Souls and DMC.

They clearly play alike. Souls=blood echoes which you use to purchase things and level up, you leave a blood stain when you die that you have to get to in order to regain your blood echoes, the stats are almost the exact same except for blood tinge, the upgrade systems are the same except now you can add blood gems, the button layout and controls are the exact same except with a few more combos, the camera is in the same position. The biggest changes to the core gameplay is the emphasis put on aggressive fast play by removing equip burden, poise, shields and adding the rally feature and changing the parry system.

I only played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 and even if their kinda differents, I'm already bored with the formula.
Same animations/sounds/reskined mobs, I don't think I could have handlheld of of them in a row.
No big deal, games work well at having similar sequels compared to other forms of media.
