What games does /v/ can't help but replay every now and again?
>>335862652
>inb4 barneyfag
>>335862652
John Marston was a pretty cool character. Too bad I never finished RDR.
>>335862757
why tho?
I'm rather ashamed to say it. Beaten it a few times, and roleplayed the hell out of it. But sometimes, I just want to wander around and kill stuff, while jumping around on awkward world geometries that NPCs can't pathfind around/onto.
>>335862652
I've been putting two hours a month into FFXIII for the past year. Does that count?i hate it so much
>>335863229
>You feel a little woozy
>>335862652
I replayed it last year. It felt good to go through everything again. I stopped the story after I got back to the ranch because I didn't want to watch John get shot.
I used to play through KOTOR 2 every year until I lost my disc. I'll need to buy another copy.
>>335863394
I'm replaying it right now. Being in Mexico made me realize how racist I am.
>>335863394
> I stopped the story after I got back to the ranch because I didn't want to watch John get shot
i thought i was the only one that did this.
I'll do that and I like to pretend that the game ends there, John living out a mundane but happy life with his family on that ranch. After all, it is what he deserves after all the hardship he's endured up to that point.
Blue Dragon on 360
I fucking love Crackdown, I still try to do a Keys To The City playthrough at least once during the summer.
Also Jurassic Park Operation Genesis.
>>335863063
i loved the game but i never finished either, i always got side tract and just would ride around, kill people and just generally bullshitting around for hours. same thing happens to me in any grand theft auto game
>>335863992YOU HAVE NEW INTEL, AGENT
>>335863179
Well, this picture of the Nostalgia Critic set him off, so who the fuck knows what's barneyshit and what isn't anymore?
>>335863063
>tfw purposely didn't trigger the last mission for over a month because I liked the comfy farm setting during the last couple missions
RDR's finale is fantastic though.
>>335864105
THAT'S ENOUGH AGENT, AGENCY PEACEKEEPERS HAVE BEEN AUTHORIZED TO TAKE YOU DOWN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Easily this once a year/two years. It's super comfy, has a superb soundtrack, memorable characters and moments. No real "that part" moments I can remember either.
Does /v/ like the undead expansion of RDR?
Pikmin's pretty comfy
>>335862652
I think I 60 percented that game. Just beat the main story and did zero sidequests or postgame content. I will admit the online was fun, but it wasn't enough to hold my attention for longer than 2 or 3 months.
>>335863229
I have beaten this game 5 times in the past 6 years and I still get random urges to play it, although judging by the wiki there isn't a single quest I haven't beaten, and most of them I've beaten multiple ways already. It really needs a worthy sequel, but we all know Bethesda will never hand off the reigns again :(
I guess other games I keep coming back to over the years are AC:Wild World, Pokemon Crystal, Sim City 4, Smash Bros. Melee and Crusader Kings 2. I've got at least 200 hours logged in each one I'd bet.
>>335864315
I would replay crackdown if my disc for it didn't break. Shooting rockets at my friend from half the city away when he was climbing the agency tower was fun as shit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qn5PXWBxEA
>>335864442
Bought it and never played it desu :( Is the online still alive on PS3?
>>335864442
It's great and made me pissed off that Rockstar didn't make an expansion for GTA V like it.
I've got 100% in both RDR and Undead Nightmare.
>>335862652
VTMB, Blood, Doom
>>335864614
Not to sure, only got it on the 360
>>335863992
Crackdown was such a surprise for me, it was so good. I bought it for the Halo 3 beta and ended up playing a good open world super hero game more. Loved the actual progress you could make, as well as the free keys to the city dlc they made. Man, so good.I played it so much the game broke, so I rented a copy from a video store, placed the broken disc inside, and returned it. They never noticed.
>>335863394
I have kotor 2 but on xbox is the combat choppy for a reason or is it just me?
Mount and blade warband
>>335864851
>tfw crackdown 3 looks incredible but also skeptical as fuck because of microshit and cloud servers
crackdown was one of the hidden gems of the 360, anyone who got it pretty much only played it because it came with halo.
>>335864518
Do you have the one with Ocelot and Venom Snake?
>>335862652
I always replay the first three games every year, I know where everything is exactly and I know what to expect but I always 100% all three games at least once a year.
>>335864851
>I bought it for the Halo 3 beta and ended up playing a good open world super hero game more.
Same here man, only ended up playing the beta for like 3 days and spent the whole summer of 2007 playing Crackdown, Spider-Man 3, Halo 2 and Gears of War.
I miss those days right before entering high school.
>>335865218
>you will never go back to playing crackdown, chromehounds and gta4 during middle school
good times
>>335865218
>>335865054
Is there a game that could be considered more of a hidden gem, that was still semi popular? I can't believe no one has tried this type of formula more, or pushed it further.
>>335865353
>GTA4
>middle school
underage b&
>>335863229
I have played this game over 200 hours over 3 different playthroughs and still not finished it.
>>335865425
>Lr2 Math
>>335865425
I'm 21 but sure
>>335864904
It's choppy. Even if the original Xbox was HUEG, it could never really handle KOTOR 1 or 2. Being a fellow-console faggot, I just got used to it. I'm sad I never got to get the mods necessary to unlock all the deleted content from the game.
It's still fun to play. I just miss the conversations, Kreia being a bitch, and becoming and over powered machine that trounces everyone around me.
>>335863671
Don't you want to help the plight of the MEJICAN people though?
I have literally replayed this 40 - 50 times (I lost count after 40). I just love it to death.
(Not the PAL version, I just really love that cover; it is legit fucking scary.)
Also, the first three MGS games.
>>335865365
Not sure, but I'd say it was one of the last great AA games.
It really saddens me how the industry is focused so much on only making AAA games (which come out broken and cost hundreds of millions) and shitty shovelware, at least Crackdown 3 is happening.
>>335864442
It's great.
Not as good as the main game, but still a dream come true. This is how DLC campaigns should be done.
>>335866000
Oh man I've been meaning to replay the MGS games for a while now, the first three are so fucking perfect.
>tfw even enjoy Twin Snakes
>>335865365
>Is there a game that could be considered more of a hidden gem, that was still semi popular?
Anarchy Reigns doesn't count right?
>>335866000
RE4 is pretty legit but Ashley annoys the fuck outta me "LEON HAAAALP!"
>>335865716
I bought a copy from blockbuster years ago when it was going out of business and it would skip whole combat encounters how fucked the disc was. I got a newer copy and can actually see combat now but still kinda choppy but not as bad as my first copy. Still have yet to sit down and play through either.
>>335866285
I wish Anarchy Reigns did better, it was a lot of fun and has a lot of content for its price.
>tfw still no Blacker Baron spinoff game by Platinum
Can't resist the call of fashion.
And the SE just made it better.
I don't know, but when I play this and relearn to git gud, everything just clicks together and makes me feel really good.
>>335865425
GTAIV is an eight-year-old game, senpai.
>>335866454
Give it a go. Seeing how the shit is over a decade old, look up guides to figure out the dialogue options to train your party members to become jedi.
It's been my favorite star wars game for some time. I know you'll get a bunch of Obsidian haters out there saying it's edgy shit, but that's why I like it. It's refreshing and I like DnD style.
I was surprised to find out that critics didn't like this game, I love it so much.
Gotcha Force
>>335866113
Have you played the originals?
I am going all the way through, currently starting the Plant chapter of MGS2.
MG is unpolished, but it is nice to see how the very first game got the entire formula right, even if it had some heavy limitations.
And playing MG2turned me into a hipster who prefers that game over MGS1.
>>335866941
I play dnd 5e with friends on fridays/saturdays and it kind of helps me.
I like Sith more but I'll have to decide given the context of story. No emotions,no love, but the constant fear of betrayal.
I'll fire it up but now I'm giving gaming a break to use all 30days of job now.
>>335862652
Played it for the first time recently, good game.
But the part with Bonnie looking at him leave with his wife got me. ;_;
>>335867190
I can't tell where the guards are looking in mg2. Mg1 they actually turn but mg2 they turned their heads.
>>335867419
>tfw wanted John to run away with Bonnie instead of being indebted to the government with his whore wife
Sometimes I just start it up to ride around on my bike.
>>335863229
I have played this a total of six months every year since it came out
I just have to replay it, and when I do, I get sucked in
Im now on my 22nd playthrough
>>335867540
I know that feel brother. She would have made a much better wife than that diseased harlot. The fact that John can still love her despite all the nasty things she did, where any other normal man would ignore her, just proves how much of a saint the man is.
>>335867317
You got plenty of time to enjoy. It'll always be best to chose to go full light or full dark to get the stat bonuses that accompany attaining and keeping your alignment at max.
The dark side options tend to be a bit obnoxious, so be ready for it. It tends to be better than the ludicrous choices in KOTOR 1 at least.
P4G plat trophy over 200 hours 4 playthroughs

That's next on my list. Replaying Bully right now and I really wish they'd make a sequel.

Literally the only good zombie related thing to come out during its time.
>>335867819
I haven't played either except the intro to kotor 2 from that BB copy. Might have been later when you get the first ayylmao that was pale zabrak is the race I think?
When do you actually get a saber?
>>335868094
RDR is on the PS4?
I can't stay away from VTMB, even though I've played every clan multiple times I just keep coming back to it.
>>335868010
I just hope r* doesn't go full fuckonami because gtaonline shit.
>Tfw they had that teaser for contra years ago that was just a flaming c but no follow though and pt pachinko shit.
All it took was that c.
>>335868621
I concur.
I'm honestly pretty sad the WoD MMO fell through. Could of been great if executed properly. Not surprised it died though.
>>335868539
No but Redemption is 640p on PS3, while 360 is 720p. And I'm sure RDR was bc on the Xbone a few months ago.
>>335862652
>It will never get a PC port

>runs so bad i quit playing
;_;
>>335868630
I have faith that r* won't go that way, but the thought still crosses my mind every once in awhile with each new shit pack they release that's online only. GTA online needs to fucking die already. Give me some single player content...

maybe because it's so open ended.
>>335869164

I want another red dead but the shift in storytelling and the likely focus on multiplayer milking slightly dissuades me. I still want an undead nightmare sequel anyways, especially because I'm a sucker for co op.

It got removed along with Tekken Tag 2. Leaked by "accident".

any yakuza game. except for 1 since kiwami came out I guess

I've been meaning to check out this series for the longest time, where should I start?
Also is Yakuza 0 any good?
>>335869730
I want most of the 360 library bc but some will slip through the cracks.
>>335868270
Saber takes a while to get to. Around level 15 with your prestige class. They make it worth while. The best way to go about it is going from Telos to Nar Shadda. It's a planet full of side quests and multiple lightsaber components. If you don't get all of them there, you'll get it by going to Onderon/Dxun afterwards.
You met Bao-dur. He's one you can turn jedi but you have to influence him through your actions. You'll have to temper it with Atton because he needs one influence point due to something you do.
>>335870207
0 is amazing. it being localized in 2017 if you don't want to play nip. I'd say start at 1 but it's old and clunky and can turn you off of the series. but it's still a decent game. you could start with 4 since it has recaps of all previous games. kiwami is a remake of 1 with the 0 engine and is amazing too if you don't mind using guides and a translator to play. y3 has a boring beginning but I personally love it.
so start with 1 if you want English and can emulate it on pc. if not then start with 3or 4 on ps3. but play them all at some point. it's my all time favorite series
>>335870558
I know some spoilers thanks to 4chan but thanks anon for being obscure as possible.
You ever try jade empire?I love that game
>>335870540

>>335870892
Love dead rising and sad my Xbox dusc tray is broken would play some of my library now.
I heard from some anon l4d2 was bc is that true?
>>335870876
Unfortunately not. Of all things that happened, my brother took the xbox to college from 02 to 06, so I couldn't hop on the other Bioware games back when they weren't shit.
I just had to rep the gamecube life in the meantime until I got a 360 aftewards. Then I became a Cod faggot. Isn't life some shit?
>>335871152
it's worth the wait. I suggest playing a few of the games by the it comes out. there's a ton of cameos and references to events in the other games that are neat when you know what they are referencing you know? but you don't need to to understand the game it's just a neat thing to realize

>>335871573
They fucked up bc imo I love some games a lot but damn they couldn't atleast try to be like Microsoft and Nintendo in that regard.

>That parrying and dodging mechanic
>That crazy as fuck story
>The boss fights
It's crazy as fuck and I love it.

>>335863761
Well, judging by GTA V at least Jack became a writer.
>>335863291
wwtf am i lookin at here?
>>335872064
I don't think watching it does it justice.
The shit you can pull off with the right timing is amazing. You ever seen someone do a perfect dodge, cut them up and then quickstep into a shield break and follow it up with a decapitation?
The boss fights are pretty well done and force you to switch up your tactics in order to get close to them and fuck them up with your sword.
>>335872398
I love that little reference it just made me so glad when I saw it. I hated Jack's non grown up voice but loved his story regardless.
>>335862652

Great game, comfy-ass multiplayer. It has my favorite free roam multiplayer of all time. Really wish they'd get around to a PC port or a sequel.
>>335872584
I'll have to either pick up a new 360(disctrayanon) or hope it becomes bc and get an hdtv because my only one in my house sound doesn't work at all and I'm console cuck.
>>335872587
It actually added closure to the game for me. I think they could've gotten adult Jack a different VA and it'd have saved the character from being hated.

>>335874015
I'd imagine he was retelling his father's story. Especially after John was no doubt slandered by Ross after the assassination. It's nice knowing that the truth about a man like John is out there for those who seek it.
For real, though, I'd love an RDR style game set in a more forested region. Imagine going down the world map via a canoe, setting traps and capping outlaws as you do?
>>335871786
Start with 1, then move to 2, then 3. Stop there..

Thanks anons I'm firing up my xbone so I can install them bitches.
>>335863229
I usually have 2-3 characters on the go that I play sporadically. Been doing it that way for 4 years, and before that I just played it all the time. It's a pretty finite game but it's got a great charm
Why is l4d2 bc but not 1?
MGS 1 - 3
Crash Bandicoot 1- 3
Spyro
Red Dead Redemption
Fallout: New Vegas
Devil May Cry 1- 4
Xcom enemy within
Castlevania Symphony of the night
Bioshock
Hitman blood money

I could honestly survive forever on these games, have been for a while. Fuck new releases
>>335874060
skyward sword? don't get me wrong, i don't hate the game, but i don't see much replay value there.
It's just so rewarding to return to this game. As a kid it was just a huge RPG playground. But over the years so much of the game just... clicked.
Like how the politics, traditions and religion just make sence for the game world and also discovering the real life counter parts. Granted I'm not the smartest nor the fastes motherfucker.
But everytime I felt like I grew a little bit in life it felt so god damn rewarding returning to Morrowind and understand a little bit more about that freaky world.
>>335876591
I've never fully gotten into Morrowind, anon. Is it as open as Skyrim and Oblivion?
I don't mean landsize. I mean in what you can really do. Can you interact with the world a lot?

I know, I know. But it has the best controls and sneaking in the series. I tried going back to previous games, but I just can't acclimatize to the old controls. Also, mods make it even better.

It also supports multiple playstyles, especially with two clans (Malkavian and Nosferatu), making for a different experience even when replaying it.
The combat's not that great, anyone can agree with this, but I still have to praise the effort Troika went in translating the pnp system for a videogame.
Just get the unofficial patch if you wanna play, though.
