Watched Digimon as a kid, never played the games besides World, and fucking hate Pokemon.

After playing like 70 hours, I'm on 17/20 chapter, so yeah, it is kinda grindy. In my case, it is mostly because I wanted some specific Digimons.
Honestly though, it doesn't feel like grind the first 40-50 hours. Basically, only boss battles are hard.
Would go with Digimon over Naruto
