1. No, RTS is a very different genre, they have different playerbases. RTS died because the genre is terrible for singleplayer experiences and way too dry and micro-intensive for competetive success on the same level as dota/lol/cs.

They take the worst aspects of fighting games, and the worst aspects of strategy games, and put them together. Then they create a meta in their mechanics so that one side can often times become one sided shitshows.
They're practically designed to create frustration in players:
"Oh you made a mistake? Have fun trying to recover, even if you play better, you're now effectively crippled for the rest of the game. Enjoy dying 10 more times."
"Oh your teammate left? That's okay, we're not going to compensate you in any way. We're not going to ask one of the other guys to sit out. Enjoy your 4v5. Oh look, it's now a 3v5."
"Hey look, this guy just ran forward into a wall of death for the tenth time in a row. Feel like calling him out on it? Too bad! Our unenforceable system ensures that you get punished for calling people out on bullshit, but they get away scott free, and continue to shit up future matches."

You know what I really hate about mobas, its that lots of the player base knows how terrible they are at the most fundamental level but dump tonnes of hours into them anyway. They continue to play something they know is awful just because.
The other side take any sort of criticism of the games are completely hostile and immediately jump to its defense with the same old shit that gets trotted out about the Souls games. Well you must be shit if you dislike them, you must not have played them if you dislike them.

I just hate my teammates so much. Since the whole game is so teamwork-oriented you either rage because you get shit teammates or because you're throwing the game for them.
And the game got me so addicted that I still spent years of time and lots of energy into improving in it. When I stopped playing I left the game salty and bitter instead of "how fun it was while it lasted", and I was still in silver division.
Though I think the fault was in me, I was so lazy and insecure that I would rather spend my free time on something I knew but didn't enjoy than go out and find some other hobby that I could enjoy.That's still the case :(

It's pretty clear you don't like MOBAs on a fundamental level and there isn't going to be an iteration that you would find yourself enjoying, and I think you'd agree with that statement. The assertion that they're all the same to you, someone who doesn't like them, has no merit, especially when weighed against the opinions of people who do enjoy them and spend a considerable amount of time with them who generally say there are significant differences. I'm sure in your mind, you can ascribe that to tribalistic, fanboyish petulance, but if that's actually your estimation, you could stand to show a bit more respect to people with different interests than you, and recognize that they may know more about their interests than you do about your disinterests.

I played Dota, I played LoL while it was in beta, I even gave a shot at HoN. There might be in-depth difference that become apparent quickly after a little amount of time spent with the games but to me who went between three and others like DemiGod for example, I ended up doing exactly what I said before, the samething in the sameway at the sametime.
It may well have been pure hyper-bole and over exaggeration on my part but to be honest all of them really are scarily similar because the things that make them similar are intrinsic parts of the genre. There are things that are good about the games though, I kinda like alot of LoLs strange aesthetics for their original heroes for example.
