ninja gaiden may not be as stylish as other games like DMC, but it has actual aggressive enemy AI and enemies that are challenging to fight.
i love DMC and all but 90% of the basic enemies in that game are just punching bags for you to style on. they literally just stumble around and throw out random attacks that'll only hit you if you're not paying attention. in NG even the regular mooks can be threatening

Eh, too many repeating bosses and shitty horde mode "Do flying swallow on these 160 demons for then next 10mins" challenge areas.
Fun game otherwise though.
It is not the best game of all time.
It is fun.
It is engaging.
It has some interesting ideas.
But the camera is awful, the combat is not as varied, and you have to fall into patterns if you wanna be good.

I just barely played this game the other week.
Got stuck at the last boss. Had to reload a save 2 hours back to stock up on potions. It was only on Normal. Also was i supposed to be switching between weapons to attack different enemies? I just stuck with the regular sword. Also I never fought that mirrior image red looking ninja gaiden im seeing in the gifs. What I miss?

-izuna drop needs to lose most of it's invincibility. its too good at focusing at a single target.

How to get gut in this game?
I have the feeling that button presses resulting in combos/attacks are inconsistent and that I am not in charge and rely too much on luck. Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong?
Furthermore, how do I disable baby mode? I know I dies some times in the very first level but with the belt the bosses are a joke.

UTs are good (hold down triangle/Y), as are flying swallows and guillotine throws, (triangle, or x+o in the air jumping towards them).

I think you have to restart from the beginnig, or the last time you saved whilst on normal difficulty
Also for certain bosses, (tanks, worms, and helicopter) if you jump whilst firing an arrow it will automatically aim towards enemies you're facing, so it means you can dodge quicker.
Honestly though I wasn't that great at these games either, I died a shitton

This, I was genuinely shocked when I found out people complained that vanilla DMC3 was hard, I didn't even know that the normal was Japanese hard mode after I finish the game, it wasn't even that hard if you compare to NGB

If you beat Sigma, harder difficulties unlock, and you unlock bonus missions which are basically like monster rooms/re-playing boss battles.
You can also have another go at beating the expected loss battles like Doku in chapter 2, and the double one for Rachel,which I watched somebody do on YT and I was still disappointed in how she just falls down anyway

I have the black edition for the xbox 360, as there are some differences (stated in the thread) I dont know if your information still applies. Never got past the catacombs because of the backtracking so i dont really know anything about the bosses you mention.
