That's why I said some.
They helped to tide me over when I was itching for a proper Metroid fix, but that's about it.
But since I haven't been able to properly indulge in that fix in nearly 10 years now, a 'vania would feel nearly as good as the real thing by this point.
That being said, I was disappointed that Alucard didn't have any punch variants for the knuckles he found. Would have been cool to have a dash punch, jumping uppercut, or hell, even a rapid punch like later games had.
