So I've recently watched the anime and have been digging into the manga. Still in the midst of retreading the basic plot and picking up the excluded details, but it seems pretty good so far.
Are the games any good? Or should I give them a miss? Do they fit into any arc, or are they stand-alone?

I only know of that one Dreamcast game, it looked fairly decent as fanservice-material.
Dark Souls and Dragons Dogma are obviously inspired by Berserk to some extent, if you're also looking for stuff like that.
Dragons Dogma especially lets you go full Guts-mode with two handed swords, it feels amazing.
There's literally Guts and Griffith armor in the game toonot on PC though due to licensing issues

Dark Souls also has Guts's and Griffith's armor (for the most part).

Baldur Knight set and Silver Knight set. Later games seem to offer better options. I've seen good DaS3 Guts builds.

The PS2 it's the only game you need of Berserk, it's JAP only and it's PS2 exclusive but there is a patch to translate it to english and there is also emulators, the framerate isn't that good and you will need to touch some things before you get it working right, for me it's worth it, the combat is amazing specially when you level up Guts Swordsman skills, parrying in the game is also good and the boss fights never loose the flow compared to other games.

Ah yes, slowing trekking across bland and dull maps just to get to that one objective before you have to backtrack all the way to the other sides of the map to get those other objectives while being bombarded with cannon fodder that you mostly 2-shot which give next to no EXP while upgrades cost an arm and a leg.
The boss fights are the only good thing about that game. Parrying shit is rad.
Terrible game overall though, and I'm saying that as a humongous Berserk fan.

Griffith is/was a control freak. He had a need to feel like everything was under his control. When things weren't under his control, he desperately would try to reassert control somewhere. That's what happened.

Hi OP.
The Dreamcast game is actually pretty good but very short. It could also theoretically be canon but is an original story.
The PS2 has a much more indepth battle system and takes place during the trolls arc. It's longer but a bit repetitive. You can summon your buddies as one-shot attacks to help you fight.
They are both good in their own ways.

Where does the Dreamcast game fit into the canon?
If I remember right it only had Guts, Puck, and Casca travelling together and I can't remember there being a time when that was the case
