I haven't liked video games in years. I used to love Fallout, but I felt 0 excitement for Fallout 4, and even though I've somehow played 34 hours of it, I find it excruciatingly boring. Dark Souls 3 was only mild interest to me, and I've been playing it almost purely out of boredom instead of desire.
Video games have been awful for years. Pokemon is the only thing left worthwhile, everything else is honestly just like a thing to do in the background while hanging out with your friends.

Honestly, shit like Pokken Tournament, Smash, and the occasional actually really good first-party release, like MK8 or DKC:TF, are the only reasons I'm still with Nintendo anymore. If the NX gets a new good Metroid game (2D, 3D, or even both), a new F-Zero without any gimmicks, and something crazy like Nintendo vs. Capcom, I might consider picking one up. But I've been so disappointed with them lately and I'm not even the only one.

I might eventually buy a PS4. My main issue is the paid online, I want to get Dissidia but fuck having to pay for something that was free on PS3. I already pay the ISP, I don't need to get further jewed on top of that.
I'll see how the NX turns out, but modern console launches are usually shit so I'll probably end up waiting a year or two. People laugh at Nintendo now, but if they exit the console market then it'll be time to write off consoles for good and focus entirely on PC. Microsoft is terrible and Sony will copy them, the two are not actually competing with each other in any meaningful way. Nintendo was the only thing keeping Sony in check, and because the Wii U undersold, that market pressure disappeared.
