This is my kinda thread.
>Final Fantasy VII on iOS

OP,
How far off was that from the PS1 version? Always been curious about it.
>>
>>335655528

What's wrong with it? I mean I agree that the arrange mode is terrible, but as a handheld port of the original Biohazard game it's fine.
>>
>>335655693
Okami on Wii was baller thanks to the pointer controls for the brush. the attacking though was a little weird, especially for timed combos seeing as the waggle was rather hard to rely on
>>
>>335655528
Saints Row 2 on PC, worth every fucking minute of gameplay.
>>
>>335655528
I never got to try the Multiplayer mode but the Knifing minigame was fun as fuck.
>>
>>335655528
The original Resident Evil 4 PC port. Didn't have mouse support, every button prompt was a generic 1-6 corresponding to an arbitrary button, was based off the PS2 port but was even worse because they managed to forget to put shadow maps in the game unpatched, and every cutscene was a badly artifacted 640x480 mess as if captured and compressed from a PS2.

Still a great game despite it all.
>>
>>335655528
REDS is a fantastic port. It's fun as fuck.

There's seriously nothing wrong with that port though. It's great.

Xenoblade for the N3DS. Smaller screen and shit didn't stop me from enjoying it.

Also, Wipeout HD on the Vita via 2048's crossbuy shenanigans, as well as BoI Rebirth. I remember it having a ton of slowdown but it doesn't seem as bad now.
>>
Gonna give this a bump, I'm actually interested in what ports others played.

My first real exposure to Metal Slug was the anthology on the Wii, where the default control scheme was practically waggle to chuck grenades.

Not exactly the same thing. But sure feels the same.
I use Google Cardboard with my shitty offbrand phone that isn't even compatible with it. Due to lack of gyroscope.
It's the shittiest version possible of any other form of VR. And I only use it for porn previews

Choppy framerate and uses the ABXY buttons for the camera.
But the story, the need to sustain snake in and out of combat, and the many ways to screw with guards.
Second favorite MGS next next to 2, the batshit insane one
>>
>>335657249
xenoblade on n3ds is great though. obviously the graphics aren't as good as the wii version, but the frame rate is surprisingly solid even using 3d, and the game is pretty much untouched. it's fantastic
>>
>>335658890
So I didn't miss out too much by skipping the Wii version then? Good.

>>335658593
Well, one is portable.
>>
>>335658827
Playing it on n3ds makes it perfect. The frame rate is still annoying, but you can use the c nub for the camera and use the face buttons for normal functions.
>>
>>335656909
jesus christ how did you even manage to complete the whole thing?
>>
>>335658983
nope, i love it on the 3ds. the port is honestly incredible. i never thought a game of that scale could work on a 3ds, but it absolutely does.

Aw man I didn't even know that was on Wii. I thought it was only MW.

Also reminded me of pic related.
The absolute worst version of Farcry you could ever play. The graphics buckle at every moment. And still look awful. It's missing a lot of the content.
But I completely finished this game. Something about FPS games on the Wii are very satisfying and engage me. Regardless if it's handled well (Conduit, GoldenEye) or shit (this and Red Steel)
>>
They added shitty touch based boss battles, and even removed original boss battles. So very much.
>>
>>335658997
If you have homebrew, you can force the game to run with the extra power of the N3DS to the point where the framerate is much more consistent and load times are much faster.
>>
>>335658997
They patched it to work with the n3DS' c nub? Shame they didn't take advantage of the extra power but that would probably impossible or very hard to patch.

Definitely a downgrade from 2, but still fun
>>
>>335659236
>They patched it to work with the n3DS' c nub?
No, it's just that the game already had Circle Pad Pro support for the O3DS. The N3DS c stick is backward compatible as a circle pad pro for games that support it.
>>
>>335659112
I was gonna download that at one stage until I saw the terrible reviews and decided against it. Probably will though one of these days just to revisit Wii FPS's

>>335659236
>probably impossible or very hard to patch.
Well it's achievable with NTR if you have CFW so it wouldn't be too hard I'd imagine. the N3DS drops the clock rate down to that of the original 3DS when playing older games like that. Games like MH4U take advantage of the extra power though because they were made with "feature" of sorts in mind
>>
>>335659062
I didn't bother with the majority of sidequests (never got Monado Armor/Eater) but yeah it wasn't overly bad to play at all. The bottom screen seemed barebones sometimes though, they could've done a bit more there.

>>335659236
N3DS nub and ZL/ZR are automatically detected as a Circle Pad Pro in all valid games.

>>335659180
I have no intent on pirating games for my N3DS, but I should really look into that kind of stuff like the extra power use for O3DS games. Is there a decent screenshot plugin around as well, on top of other handy little tools?
>>
>>335655880
They added shitty touch based boss battles, and even removed original boss ones. So very much.
>>
>>335659112
Wow this looks like a ps2 game
>>
>>335659180
>>335659236
Damn this is so relative to my interests. I can't be bothered to play MGS3 at home cause I have too many other things to play. But if I could play it on the 3DS I'd be so down. Plus aren't the visuals actually reworked to look better compared to the PS2/HD version?

I played the demo on the 3DS but the frame rate coupled with the odd choice of the face buttons for camera (when they could have used the touch screen as a option) killed it for me.

But if this is all patched up for the N3DS, I may be tempted to get one.
>>
>>335658712
played the shit out of it. when I played the superior versions and saw all the extra shit, I actually ended up missing the wii version, because it was quieter (less mics), less killstreaks (got rid of the bullshit streaks), and sniping actually felt great with the wiimote

>>
>>335656747
Holy fuck I beat that shit too.
Wasn't it something like ctrl to aim, enter to shoot, and shift to run?
>>
>>335658827
i actually prefer PSP/3DS style controls over original controls

Also the only version with crouch walk

Also has customizable two- or three- way switching on items and weapons.

Too bad horrifically bad framerate in demo literally gave me headaches.

>I have no intent on pirating games for my N3DS, but I should really look into that kind of stuff like the extra power use for O3DS games. Is there a decent screenshot plugin around as well, on top of other handy little tools?

The same homebrew app that lets you use the extra power for the N3DS also lets you take native screenshots by pressing the home button and then exporting them as actual image files with the screenshot tool in the homebrew apps (it all comes with the starter package).

Sounds good. My past experience with 3DS homebrew was with Ironhax/Tubehax in their infancy, does this now require the fancy CFW stuff and some extra steps or just the same simple methods?

Heard something about Action Replay Powersaves too helping with homebrew installation recently. Will look more into this.

It runs on same servers as the other CoDs.
>>
>>335660791
>>335660848
yes but black ops servers are hosted by activision who thankfully keep their legacy game servers up
>>
>>335655964
you had to swing the wiimote like a whip to get it to work, they programmed anti-waggle into the port for some reason. Other versions are superior imo for just having it bound to a button
>>
>>335660942
How populated is it?
I actually love playing games with a very small active online userbase. Like three games going on at a time. Tops. Feels more personal and special
>>
>>335660934
>>335660942
Wait seriously? I could've sworn the online for black ops on wii finished. I'm gonna play this so damn much now even though i've got the ps3 version anyway
>>
>>335661030
The shitty combat is why i'm glad the ps3 version went on sale the other day. I didn't get around to finish the wii port (other games kept popping up that i wanted to play) so now i can play it without putting up with the flinging to attack
>>
>>335661530
The Wiimote controls are better than other consoles since you can personally tweak it in a myriad of ways.

They could have fucking used the original release's fixed camera if there was no good control scheme for a movable camera. Why couldn't they just do that?

Bump.
I like this thread.

Which reminds me actually, i remember that some people had servers up for a few games, which required patching an ISO and running that instead. I remember mario kart wii and tatsunoko vs capcom being on the list but forgot the others
