Reminder that Federation Force is not a Prime game. It lacks:

It looks terrible. Granted, I only played one stage, but it was 20-30 mins and I was falling asleep while playing. It didn't look like you'd unlock items or weapons to get to new areas. You're just dropped off onto a random spot and have a mission objective. You pick your load out, but it was all just garbage like ice or electric attacks that don't do that much damage. The main enemies were random security drones. They sucked and had no real AI to them. After beating them I had to find a key by smashing random pots. The key took me to the boss area. The boss was a reactor core. It did nothing cool. I blew it up and my team ( 3 other real players) had to escape in 60 secs. We escaped...the space pirates showed up. They also looked like ass. We got on a ship and the mission was over.
I don't even think there's a deeper story, other that you're soldiers going on missions. It's worse than Prime Hunters. I guess you can wait for reviews, but I doubt they'll be anything good.

He is, Metroid Prime originally had sequence breaking like the 2D games, when Tanabe took over with the Prime Trilogy he had Retro block off all the sequence breaks. He had Retro add an ammo system to Prime 2 he is the main reason Prime 3 was the way it was linear as hell, and even worse he was responsible for Metroid Prime: Hunters. While Metroid II wasn't as good as the original it was anything but terrible. it had an open world design that allowed you to explore the vast world of SR-388 and Samus abilities were optional like the original and Super. You could also kill Metroid bosses in different orders. the game became more atmospheric the deeper you went into the planet. Seeing the destroyed Chozo statue told a story on it's own, and the ending at the time was unexpected. The game also was the foundation for the future of the series at the time. Putting Other M over any of the 2D Metroid games is an insult of itself.
I'm not too impressed with what I've seen, but I'm willingly to wait and see the final product before casting judgement.
