I don't see how this isn't the least hyped Blizzard release. Even Reaper of Souls received plenty of fanfare and was touted as the fix to D3's original mistakes.
Legacy of the Void MIGHT come close as an irrelevant release compared to Overwatch too, but it might be a bit unfair to pit a 2nd expansion launch to a new IP.

No, overwatch is well designed because instead of cramming call-of-duty style loadouts into nine classes with weapon unlocks and having to fiddle with loadouts and shit, they just made two dozen classes instead.

I agree that Overwatch doesn't look very special in videos - I remember being totally unimpressed with the gameplay trailers. I then got into the stress test weekend and actually played it and enjoyed the hell out of it.

After finally playing it myself, no I have no interest and I think the hype is misguided. Its a completely average shooter that's going to lose a significant amount of its playerbase after 2 months because there honestly just isn't enough to the game right now. The maps are generic and quite poorly designed compared to other shooters, and once people get over the whole character system and realize that each character is actually pretty damn shallow and limited, there really isn't much the game has to offer. Its just a barebones shooter game with really good looking characters.
I like the waifus, I'm looking forward to the porn, I'm fully expected it to be the FPS equivalent of diablo or HotS.

She can do a good deal of damage and her ult is perhaps the best area denial ability in the game
One weak point I've noticed as I play her more and more is obviously that if your mech is destroyed then your team is effectively down a mech for the downtime, but if you time your shit properly you can get your mech back fairly quick

My friend group only got one account that got into the beta, which apparently more than most, and the game didn't run very well even on all low and 720p. Aiming is supposedly tied to fps in this game and despite this, the game was mechanically fun to play the different characters. The problem is that playing the map and trying to influence the game towards your team winning wasn't that fun. I'm guessing the game is designed around playing around a certain playstyle and once a meta emerges, it'd probably be fun to play with friends. As it was in the beta, it wasn't fun solo
