-Refined game play from Awakening which was actually pretty great when they decided to change up the mission objectives. 'Rout the enemy' are some of the most boring maps in the series' history.
-some decent moments in the actual story but they were too far apart
-Half of the cast are fucking idiots and fundamentally stupid, primarily Corrin/Kamui and Azura/Aqua.
Worse than Awakening/10.
And that's really sad.
The only saving grace was some of Conquest's maps.

Conquest was fun. Birthright was boring as shit, Revelations was just a ton of ideas that were too bad to exist in a standalone project. Story was horrible, characters were a bit more fun than Awakening at least.
Really weak Fire Emblem games, but their new audience ate it up so it's time for me to just move on to greener pastures and just play PC98 Fire Emblem clones for the rest of my days.

It's like a far improved Awakening, but it'll have the same problem that it has now. As soon as a game is replaced by a new one with improved gameplay, it'll be completely forgotten because almost everything unique about it's identity was kinda shit.

Somehow manages to have a worse story than Awakening, or at least Birthright that is on par with Awakening. Gameplay is generally improved, especially in Conquest. Better cast as well aside from the actual main characters.

It was pretty fun. An improvement over Awakening, which was complete balls. The story is shit, though, and the business decisions behind the selling of the game are pretty bad as well.
The actual avatar character is annoyingly naive. The rest of the cast varies from pretty likable to pretty bad. Glad that they fixed some broken mechanics. Online's alright, too. Overall, 7/10, would play again at a far later date.

Alright concept, horrible execution. Silver weapons are almost never used thanks to their stacking debuffs, Steel weapons have that being more vulnerable to being doubled attribute attached to them, so only the tankiest or speediest fuckers ever use them, Iron is completely fucking broken due to how forging works in this game. Bronze being shit is alright though, that's how it should be.

No durability is okay, but not great. Rebalancing isn't much good and doesn't matter on most playthroughs. Silver and S level weapons are shit across the board. Silver bows are acceptable for occasional use.

Very good, in fact I'd say it's great. However the story wasn't well written and Corrin is pretty bland. I'd probably give it an 8 out of 10 and say it's about my 4th favorite FE behind Path of Radiance, Awakening, and Binding Blade. The soundtrack is fucking GOAT, too.

Actually Steels only make it harder for the user to double. They don't lower the threshold for the enemy to double at all.
Eg Hana needs +8 speed to double with a Steel Sword but the enemy knight would need +5 speed to double her.

Best Sister indeed. Nothing quite like seeing Ragnarok/Ginnungagap Sorcerers plink for 1s and 2s on your Strategist Little Sister.
After that it was as easy as entrapping and killing one of the Generals before opening the door, then breaking it down with Xander before running back to the Sorcerer death trap so they'd all funnel in nice and slow. Felicia silenced Iago and he went down in one turn no problem. Had Xander eat the left maid's entrap and break down the door, soaking aggro for a turn before releasing him, Siegbert, Camilla, Corrin and Soleil on the shitter golems. Chapter was pretty easy over all. Hinoka's chapter was the one that really raped my ass.

Generally I like the Fates cast more than Awakenings, though there are some exceptions. And for all the shit both casts get for being too gimmicky, the older games varied pretty hard in quality. People have a nostalgia boner for Blazing Sword, for instance, but in retrospect much of it's cast was pretty boring. The best characters imo are from Genealogy and Sacred Stones.

Yeah the main issue with that is that the story is static, meaning they can't openly acknowledge who is married to who. That's the true reason why we had shit like Cordelia still talking about Chrom in her level-up dialogue even if she's married. I'd prefer for a dynamic story that has dialogue changes similar to PoR for instance, even if minor, but with everyone being able to marry everyone there are a ton of variables.
But look at it this way; at least you'll be one of the lucky ones who should get additional marriage dialogue in the future.

But I agree, a dynamic story would probably be better, I'd even be more willing to accept a bit of a shittier plot as dynamic writing can often be very hard to do, but at least there is some dialogue recognizing your marriage when people visit your home.
