Demon souls should be Eldar God tier.
It was like no other game that came out in its time.
It was such an important game to have ever been released due to the significance of its time.
At a day and age where games were becoming rehashed and casual, as well as the Japanese game market floundering, Demon Souls was the sleeper hit that saved the entire game industry.
If it wasn't for it coming out there definitely would have been a videogame market crash.

Honest question. Why some much Sony Defense Force on the board suddenly? So much "bb and Des are the only good souls games" despite no one addressing the flaws in them like the stuttering, load times and adysmal frame rates at least in BB. I mean i played thrm all but BB was the only one i never did ng+ or dlc for due to relief of just finishing it and never dying to a frame drop spike and ataring at a black screen for almost a minute.
Old Hunters is criminally overrated. 2/3 of the levels and 3/5 of the bosses are mediocre. And those fucking shark men with infinite poise, 10-hit combos and 360 degree tracking? They're like the Greathammer Drakekeeper from DaS2 on steroids.

I agree with you to be honest.
But only because I think Sif, Ornstein and Smough, Firelink Shrine and Ash Lake's themes stand above the rest.
I prefer the music in dark souls 3 because it changes with the bosses phase, pontiff sulayvahn and oceiros being really good examples where it really matched the fight, Sully's theme starts icy and swirling with the strings winding around eachother, which feels right for his dance like movements, before exploding in a much more aggresive theme in his second stage, as he heats up and summons his clone. Oceiros's theme starts off almost eastern and mythic sounding, it fits the dragonoid theme really well, as well as sounding weird enough to represent the bosses dialogue and appeareance, the theme then turns completely opposite into a brutal percussive feeling as he devolves into a beast like man dragon in his second phase.
What's good is that every boss has a second phase, except maybe the ancient wyvern, although I'm somewhat unsure there.

DS3 is better than DaS. DaS is blatantly unfinished and has a very noticeable drop in quality towards the mid/end of the game. Most of the bosses are boring, uninspired, or rehashed - unlike DaS3 which had the most memorable and fluid fights in the series (with only a couple clunkers). The areas are just as well designed as DaS, with the addition of being larger, more expansive and more labyrinthine. The difficulty curve is smoother and the upgrade balance is better paced. There are more secrets and more obtuse NPC questlines for the completionists. The combat is MUCH improved with considerably better balance, more weapons, weapon skills, better weapon and ring diversity, more magic, another resource to manage, more balanced stats, etc... The overall aesthetics and atmosphere of each area are better as well, helped along by better graphics obviously but also more attention to detail in the level construction and sound design.
Also, comparing DaS/DaS2 with DLC to DaS3 without DLC is not at all fair to the latter.
