It's completely plausible that Clem is smarter than the adults. I've grown up being consistently smarter than my peers and I don't mean just in school. I really never thought I was something special, but reality kicked in when highschool ended. Every day I meet adults that I can barely consider conscious and I know that with a month worth of training I could do their jobs better and faster. The sad truth is that it's hard to not overestimate the general public's intellect. I once argued with a chick , (she was going to college, I was 16) that society hasn't changed at it's core for millenia. She thought that it can't be tru and that it would be incredibly saddening. The hard truth however that society is a trigger happy gun. Just point it at something and they'll gladly pull their own trigger. No, it's boring. It's another babysitting storyline, except you have no reason to care about or stay with the girl. She gets you captured and blamed for her crime. I spent an entire episode accusing her and establishing that I had nothing to do with her and at the end it forces you to just merrily tag along and help her out.
I'd rank it below Game of Thrones, because even though GoT was shit, it had memorable events and characters.
