Infinite Is not a bad game,but people really go full sperg over the quantum phisic part which has a lot of flaws.
bioshock 2 was missing the ooomph factor and infinite was just a clusterfuck.
the original is perfectly fine though. amazing setting, charismatic villain and good themes. it kind of fell apart after ryan's death but by then it had already accomplished everything that was important plotwise

I've always felt that Bioshock's story completely falls apart halfway through the game. It's pretty much entirely dependent on a single twist, which is thatJack is a genetically engineered monster and Andrew Ryan's son.Whereupon actually killing Ryan, it's revealedthe guy helping you is actually the guy helping you except now he wants to kill youdespite having access tonumerous mind control phrasesand hasn'treally done anything really that dickish towards Jackto warrant Jack seeking revenge.
Even more bizarre thatFontaine betrays Jack immediately after killing Ryan, instead of doing the smart thing and attempt tocontinue to work with the genetic monster he personally watched march through bowels of the hellscape that is Rapture.
Now, what I feel the game could have done instead was reinforce the whole"A man chooses, a slave obeys"and give the player either a choice about going afterFontaineof giving the player an actual solid motivation for killingFontaine(along with givingFontaine and actual solid reason for attacking the player. (An interesting thing to note, I don't recall the game ever touching uponTenenbaum's role in Jack's creation in a negative way, regardless of the fact thatshe had more to do with Jack's existence than Fontaine).
It's fortunate that the game does have a enjoyable backstory and characters to mask it's (in my opinion) weak present plot.

BS2 had better weapon design but I wouldn't say it had superior gameplay. The mysteriousness of Rapture was faded a bit during the second playthrough and it just didn't seem as dark or immersive. The "rescue the damsel in distress" story was pretty forgettable.

I wasn't talking about gameplay. I was saying why I think Bs1 is better. The only real gampley "superiority" was being able to dual wield plasmids and weapons. I preferred the headshot accuracy of the pistol over the rivet gun.
I also thought the little sister escort missions were tedious as fuck and generally not worth it. I would just harvest/rescue and still get everything I needed.
