Did your parents care about the rating system when they bought/rented video games for you?

My parents gave me money

Only once when I bought Metal Slug 3.
That was after I got all GTA games and some Mortal Kombat games no problems.

growing up, parents didnt really care. the only thing they cared about was how much the game cost. they didnt question at all what the game i was buying.

hell, my dad even bought me mortal kombat because he thought it looked cool since it used photo realistic people in it.
I remember my dad watching me and my brother play it and he was more focused on how good the graphics are rather than the actual gameplay of it.

No, actually. It was less about me being mature and more about them being concerned with more pressing matters like providing an excellent household to grow up in. I take there view in that there is something wrong with you if you honestly believe your kid is stupid enough to be influenced by vidya more than his parents.

Considering one of the earliest games I can remember playing was Duke Nukem 3D, no.
>>
My parents didn't buy me M games. They always told me if I really wanted them I'll figure out a way to get them myself so I did.

I "befriended" the older EB games workers or got a friends older brother to get me them.

No, my mother bought San Andreas for me when I was 10. She gave no fucks.
>>
I'm an oldfag so ratings didn't exist until I was at an age where I was already able to obtain my own games.
>>
My mom didn't give a fuck. I was watching Beavis and Butt-Head, going to the arcade to play Mortal Kombat and Time Killers, listening to Doggystyle and The Chronic all that stuff.

No because the NES and SNES didn't have a rating system.

You're either Black, Mexican, of from Los Angeles.

Ben?

no they did not, my pops was more concerned if i was able to even play them or not. So horror games and the such were out of the question since i get scared easy.
ultimately a moot point for me since i gravitated towards game that probably at best a T rating, and had other family members who got the M rated shit.

Wrong on all counts. I was a lower middle class white kid growing up in a suburb of Chicago.
