How do you feel about romance in video games? Is there a way to properly integrate it into gameplay without it feeling forced and incomplete? When done poorly, it comes off as unwanted fanservice, but games like Dragon Age Origins which feature integrated romance systems manage to draw a huge female audience.

I'd rather a single, well-written romance than a dozen characters that you can score with. It comes off as more genuine, and less like a game to win their affections. It's more fickle, but that fickleness is what attracts a lot of Tumblr users and fujos to games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. They like the mix and match ability.
I don't mind it as long as the characters themselves aren't shit. But like other people said as long as its not shoehorned.
However it does bother me when you have a blank slate character with multiple romance options and one of them is favoured over the others. I hate that shit. It's difficult because a proper romance will often change the main character and, as a result, the story. Not having the romance affect anything outside of the romance is one of the chief reasons they often feel shallow in games. Of course, it makes sense, because having optional content change the game significantly would increase costs for developers - and games are already fucking expensive.
There are ways to get around this. Dragon Age/Mass Effect romances change dialogue just enough to reference the romance outside of the romance scenes, but not enough to be too pricey. Alpha Protocol has the MC be a travelling spy so communicating with your romances often would obviously be difficult. Persona 4 has the romances feel like horny teenagers running around in secret behind their friends' backs and does throw in a couple of references outside of romance scenes.

personally while playing pandoras tower I think it was done pretty well, you had your cute waifu and had some stupid ass/cute moments with her, and it was sad when you saw her transformed into the hideous beast that has to eat raw flesh from the monsters you kill, and as the game went on she almost attacked you until you gave her the meat, also the good ending was pretty satisfactory

The Persona games do a pretty good job with the social links, but they're still pretty divorced from the actual game story.
The Witcher is pretty good with tying the romance into the story with Triss and Yen being reflective of Geralt's struggle with himself, but there's not really any impact on gameplay.
Fallout also does kind of similar things with the companion side quests, with them getting different perks depending on how you resolve their quest, plus they also act different based on your karma and faction affiliation, but that's not really romance.
I'm sure you could do a good romance system based on some mix of these models, but I don't think we've gotten to the point where we have a definitive "best game romance" yet.

I think a good personality and character interaction are way more important for dating/waifu game than graphics or art style. I have met several men that make it to 25+ and never being in a relationship, while they are fine in looks and personality they have the issue of "falling easily". The people that are single further in life with nerdy hobbies also tend to have issues with their age. Several of my friends are nearing 30 and are still trying to date 20yr olds. While age isn't a factor in consent at that point, it still is a maturity issue. You will always be lacking a connection trying to date someone so much younger then you.

While I get your point, priorities and proper timelines are incredibly more complicated and messed up in this day and age. I've had a few relationships in the past and I have a decent idea of the flow of a relationship but with most women I meet it's hard to even get a read on what some of them want. Romance is a pretty basic human social interaction. Especially in a story with a lot of male/female characters, its total absence is hard to fathom.
But like any other kind of story, a romantic subplot is best when it's well written, well presented and integrated with the rest of the story. Games that involve harem-type systems where the player gets to choose who their protagonist will romance is typically always going to be less satisfying than one that is well written and an integral part of the plot.
