Unlike Skyrim, the mods were mostly multiplayer. Since the community has pretty much died out, you won't get to play great things such as Gloom.

I doubt he's been keeping tabs on the FPS genre as a whole, though. I doubt it will be anything that's "never been done before". Maybe a small gimmick like "Crossplay" from that cancelled The Crossing FPS

I didn't like Quake 2 as much as 1, but I wouldn't call it bad.
I love 3 but can't really compare it to the first two games because of how different it is. Still think they should've implemented an actual single-player campaign alongside the multiplayer.
