I bought this on the eShop last week and I'm about halfway through.
I'm actually enjoying despite lacking some of the newer features from the GBA titles before it (due to it being a remake of the very first game).
Who is everyone's favorite character?
I like Ogma and Caesar.
>>334934479
Its pretty fun. Game is fast paced and H5 is brutal without totally limiting your options.
>>334935736
SD Cord is great because he's a dope Hunter.
I like Sedgar for being broken.
>>334935736
Minerva and Mariaand Michalis even though he's not playable in this one.
I know everyone complains about the Akaneia games having a really bare-bones story but I always loved the Macedonian family subplot.
>>334935736
My boy Barst never let me down. Make him a pirate -> berserker and he's a monster.
First FE game I played (NoA made a mistake by not localizing a game with Marth or Roy first) and I liked it. The only other SRPGs I played before that were Shining Force and FF Tactics Advance though.
>>334935736
Camus is only answerEven better in 13
>>334937980
that's not camus
>>334935736
based Donnel from Awakening
>>334935736
Can't stop the rock.
>>334938214
Of course not.
It is clearly Quattro Bajeerna.
>>334937950
>NoA made a mistake by not localizing a game with Marth or Roy first
Technically you're Roy's Dad
>>334934479
It's functional. I ain't really too much of a stickler over what's there or what's not there. My only big issue is that it's kinda ugly.
>>334938640
I wasn't playing as Roy's dad in Melee.
>>334938790
Also Roy shows up in the game's ending.
>>334938548
>96 damage
that's the kinda stuff FE3 Kashim/Castor was pulling. Horse archer too strong
>>334938214
Next you are going to tell me this isn't Marth, nice try bud.
>Have to kill off your members for gaiden chapters
>>334935736
Wolf and Sedgar carry my sorry ass every playthrough
>>334940340
gaidens in that game are meant for scrubs
Shadow Dragon was my first FE so I don't hate it. but a lot of people give it shit for lacking stuff the GBA games have. 9/10 game, it's okay.
>>334935736
Ogma my nigga.
>>334940652
>reclass Wolf into a General
>solo the game
Eh, I just think of it as the prelude to FE12 which is really fucking great.
>>334938879
I dunno.
I was talking about FE1 gordon.
I'm sure he got nerfed during the remakes.
>>334934479
It's the second best way to playthrough the original story, the best is FE6
>>334938548
Fuck off Gaggles
>>334942791
FE1 Gordin was so damn slow but I suppose he got good later on.
>>334944615
> the best is FE6
FE6 is tedious, it's filled with oversized maps and indoor chapters 1 tile wide corridors that get crammed with enemies that slow the gameplay down to a crawl due to the low hit rates.
FE11 is better.
>>334935736
Ogma, Nabarl, Shiida and Julian.
My Shiida gained lots of str somehow and become a killing machine as a Dracoknight.
I leved Julian to the max so he could avoid practically anything and had a high crit chance.
So, is there a chronological guide of the Fire Emblem games and what's the best version to play them? I'm currently playing the GBA one and having fun
>>334935736
Minerva. She saved my ass so many times I'm pretty sure I only managed to get through some areas without deaths because of her
It's nowhere near the best the series has to offer, but it has a special place in my heart anyway because it was my first FE game. It's bare yet functional and still worth playing for anyone who enjoys the FE gameplay at its core.
Blind Ironman when you have zero idea what you're doing or how anything works is an absolute hell of a ride. That was one of my favorite experiences with video games, period.
>>334946545
Not all the games are connected.
That being said, play FE10 after FE9 and FE12 after FE11
>>334940340
FE1 was designed to be played in one sitting without restarting every time a character died, but people did because the advertizing for the game playing up the permanent preventable deaths of the game told playing to not let anyone die.
So it kinda told player to play the game in a way that wasn't intended.
They expected you to just play normally and if you were in a rough spot you'd get a gaiden chapter that would give you a new character to make up for the ones you've lost.
They took into account the fact everyone just resets when a character dies anyway into all future games.
>>334946545
The games aren't connected, save for certain games which are duologies (FE3 has a remake of FE1 and a whole new sequel, FE5 is a midquel to FE4, FE7 is a prequel to FE6. FE10 is a sequel to FE9). As for the best versions, FE1 has three versions: the standard NES one, the remake in FE3, and FE11, Shadow Dragon. I recommend Shadow Dragon; give FE3 a shot if you really like the series, though. FE1 isn't recommended. Likewise, part-two of FE3 was remade as FE12 (also on DS). It's Japan-only but there's a great fan translation out there. Play the DS version. Other than that, none of the other games have versions. FE7 on the GBA is actually a great place to start, in fact. If you really like the series, give FE6 then FE8 a try.
>>334946213
FE11 is easily better but FE6 is still good and has a great difficulty curve.
>>334947985
I still have nightmares with chapter 21 from FE6
>>334949314
Put Dieck/Lanc/Alan/Percival in some woods with axes. Clarine should have enough avoid to do so too
>>334935736
Athena.
