Literally just run from the bonfire, ignore the Gargoyles, and enter the boss room. Then get ready for the most gimmicky boss in the whole fight.
I wanted Yhorm to be like the Giant Lord in DaS2. Waving his giant cleaver around and trying to stop on you. Instead you kill him in 4 shots with a meme weapon.

Champion Gundyr is after Crystal Sage the easiest boss in the game. Everything he does is predictable as fuck, he has no special attacks that are hard to dodge and he's the easiest NPC in the game to parry.

Her ass and thighs are actually a part of the challenge; not from staring at them, but because they stick out so much. It gives her a weird hurt-box while she's moving, so short-range weapons just plain whiff because you can't get close enough. Figured out last night that if you use a shield and just strafe around him counter clockwise (to the right, his left), most of his attacks just go completely over you. Any other wide-arc attacks get absorbed by the shield and maybe hurt you about 5-10% tops. I have shit poise and never used shields until now.
Just do that and hit him a couple times at the end of his combos. Once he hits stage two, just kill his clone and then repeat the strafing.
Was a pretty fun fight, I guess I got lucky because I beat him 3rd try.
Armour on the other hand is just completely wrecking my shit non-stop. I'm probably on about my 25th try at this point. I haven't even gotten him lower than 25%, he always ends up one shotting me.

It's really what makes the game great. Everyone is weaker at a certain aspect of the game, and different bosses punish different shortcomings.
For example, I killed Soul of Cinder first try but died to Crystal Sage five times. It's probably because I tend to play a bit too defensively, and he just kept flinging shit at me while I was turtling behind a shield like an idiot.
That's really good game design and shows how well-thought-out some of the bosses are.

Pontiff is griefng me right now. How do I progress further in the dungeon? I cleared the first two levels of the dungeon but now I can't figure out how to get further, there's no clear paths, just locked gates. I thought maybe a got a key past Pontiff but I didn't get a reply last thread.

Bosses aren't buffed like that. Their HP pool is doubled with 1 tripled with 2 and quadrupled with 3. Damage isn't affected because people's health bars are needed to make the fight harder.

Took me 5 tries. He was a challenge but nowhere near Nameless King. I can't really even say the two times i've played through i learned Pontiff's full patterns. So its hard to call him anything special. Just dodge around and wait for his opening and in phase 2 kill the clone and hes much easier then phase 1. He gives you so much free damage when he summons the stand and you can usually knock the thing down to 20% or even dead if you have a two handed weapon.

Nameless King is the only notable boss in this game. Soul of Cinders second phase has no fucking health and dies mad fast and Pontiff is alright. Aldritch might also be alittle difficult for the first playthrough until you understand the progression of the arrows and how the fight works.
Champion wasn't even hard you just roll around him and get free punishes. He also gives you so many openings to heal if you dodge one thing its insane. Oh also you could just bait his leap all day for a free punish.
I feel like the same can be said of Nameless although it can be alittle more inconsistent as he can do the fast air attack. If you run away from phase 2 and space it just right he will do the slow ass air strike most of the time and give you a free hit or two.
