I know you are using hyperbole, but this is the truth. As a guy who played since FF4, I am fine with the direction they are taking. Upscaling the graphics alone would hardly be worthy of a remake, and from what I hear, they have a chance to add a wealth if content for the 7R, three games worth of content for 1 title, even split up, sounds like it's worth it.
I dunno, we jRPG fans just rip our communities apart, while the players who mainly play western rpgs make fun of us just like they always have. And then we internally just dog on each other because of a difference of opinion in battle mechanics and designs? Do we really expect those things not to change to suit nostalgia? I'll play XV and 7R, and judge them like every other title, but give it the fair shake I gave every one. Honestly, the crap that gets spewed these days reminds me of the guff Square got for VIII and Tactics back in the day. Some warranted, most not.
I will say though, it is slightly disappointing Star Ocean 5 is so short, so I hope the extra stuff is worth it. Neir Automata looks decent, but not the mindblowing game some hype it up as, what content does it have that makes some say it'll be better than XV? I like the music, but art design is a little too subdued for my taste.
