The way the Arwing handles feels loose and sloppy, it's got really slippery handling compared to 64, though it's a step up from Assault which had really slow and sluggish vehicle control.
If you play with the "Motion Controls on While using ZR" option it controls almost like traditional Starfox. Problem is they already have annoying gimmick enemies you have to use the shitty lock-on view to fight.
all the voices sound wrong. Peppy sounds awful, Slippy sounds too much like a girl compared to 64, and Falco lacks the slight Brooklyn-ish accent and just sounds like a white guy. Wolf isn't British again and doesn't even have the Southern accent from Assault/Brawl. Bill talks like a generic military sergeant and not a surfer dude.
Shit like this really fucks with my nostalgia for 64, I hated it in Assault and I hate it now.
Graphics look fine. it's got a nice clean look like W101 had.
music is just decent. If it's not a remix of an old iconic track it's bland and forgettable.

Of course twin sticks doesn't compare to KB+M. Gyro is simply not a good replacement for KB+M.
Using a Wiimote as a simple pointer is the closest I've seen on consoles and even that can be janky at times (Metroid Prime 3 + the gamecube ports). It works well for simple rail shooters though, like Sin and Punishment.

Gyro is a thousand times better than twin sticks. Anypne who's played Splatoon for a decent amount of time can tell you this. Twin sticks is fin if you don't care about playing at a decent level, but not comparable in percision compared to the gyro. You have to learn something different, but you're greaty rewarded for it. Gyro is objectively better; this is evidenced by the fact that no one who succeeds in the game's multiplayer uses the twin stick controls, because they cannot carry you very far.
If you want to stick with them, that's fine. Enjoy yourself. But you're limting yourself severly. It's the exact same argument as twin sticks vs. KB+M, and taking a different side when it's gyro or touch is just hypocrisy.

-If you take the time to GIT GUDthe gyro controls are actually pretty good.
-You only need to use the gamepad view in a few enemies, such as the spiders on corneria (even then you can do it without if you git gud)
-The voice acting is the hammy 64-ness you've been waiting for. Falco isn't BAHSTON tho, which sucks ass
-the one mandatory gyrowing level is lame. still better then aquas

I never even said gyro controls were bad. As far as I can tell, you guys were arguing about twin sticks. The sticks work, regardless of which you prefer.
>Star Fox Zero’s larger issue is that even though the format and gameplay are so similar to Star Fox 64, it feels like the time for this type of game has come and gone. If this had been released for the GameCube instead of Star Fox Adventures, I assume that it would have been almost universally praised by fans of the series. Virtually every element of the 64 entry is intact here. The campaign is largely Arwing-focused and features branching paths and secret exits until the final confrontation with Andross. Completionists can return to levels to collect all of the medals and try to beat their best kill score. Voice actors for the entire team return, and the dialogue features plenty of callbacks for nostalgic fans.
All of this would have been welcome in the early 2000s, but the years of disappointing follow-ups and the overall progression of industry standards leads to Star Fox Zero having the impact of an HD rerelease rather than a full sequel. Being able to beat the game in 2-3 hours doesn't help, no matter how many branching paths or lackluster challenge missions are included. Even the moment-to-moment action doesn't have anywhere near the impact that it had almost two decades ago, as this limited style of gameplay feels dated in 2016. Nintendo finally released the Star Fox game that I thought I wanted, but it leaves me wondering what place Fox McCloud has in today’s gaming landscape.
