So these are what turn into the Pilgrim Butterflies flying around Lothric Castle? It looks like they're all praying toward where the mass of them are near Dragonslayer Armor.
>>
Could Nameless King beat Gwyn in a fight?
>>
>>334890439
Not with these upgrades.
With these upgrades, you didn't stand a chance.
>>
>>334890358
Is the Dragonslayer Armor the Armor that Gwyns firstborn wore before being kicked out by daddy?

I saw some anon say it was, and the description of the soul says its wearer disappeared.

Also the fact its right beside the statue of the Sunlight covenant kinda hints at it.

Ornstien gone looking for Nameless King, who likely trained him pre dark souls due to similer movesets and weapons. They probably wore similer armor too
>>
>>334890358
Do we ever get any explanation for the first boss and those random high wall enemies exploding into evil looking blob dragons?
>>
>>334890756
Some anon hypothesized that the world is reverting back to it's natural state because the sun is dying, thus the abyss is taking over, and since the abyss corrupts like that...
>>

Pontiff Sulyvahn is the most badass motherfucker ever. He created a god eater, made an army of mad dog people, and had two fucking cool swords. And he did all of this while still being technically human.

I was just about to ask this. Reminded me of that snake summon move from Bloodborne, and the monsters usually have some type of snake or serpent appendage.

>he thinks lightsabers and/or lightsaber colors correlate to sith/Jedi

So is grievous a Jedi? Was Kyle Katarn a Jedi during the events of outcast?
>>
>>334890618
It seems likely, given that it follows the same design as Ornsteins armor. It could be that the Dragonslayer Knights wore similar golden suits, and we know it's not Ornsteins armor due to lack of lion face and that you can find his armor later. So it's likely that whoever owned the armor was of a higher rank than Ornie.
>>

Exactly my point you tard. The color is determined by the crystal, the crystal doesn't change cause you're good or bad.

Or do you think purple is the "bad motherfucker" personality color with red being evil green good etc
>>

In the movie canon a Kyber crystal changes colours when you choose it. Not when the saber changes hands

No, I don't know where the hell you heard that but there are multiple instances of Jedi and Sith using other lightsabers they didn't build and they maintain their color.

NOTHING from Dark Souls 2 is directly referenced. Everything is very vague on purpose, to the point where the Fume UGS only states it's from a traitor from long ago, Drangleic Armour is called Drang Armour & such. Never a direct reference
>>
>>334892386
Yes it is. Are you retarded?

The entire reason the flame is withering
>>
>>334892170
The Firekeeper in the end of flame ending talks about seeing small flames in the dark eventually, makes me think that it's a true reset to the cycle since the flame is so fucking weak now after being kindled so much and then it goes back to a similar state as the Dark Souls 1s intro. Dunno if that'd bring back all those dragons though.

boy I hope someone got fired for that blunder.

Also, how did anyone find Great Hollow in the first place?
>>
>>334892170
I'm not sure, it would kind of explain the disagreements that frampt and kaathe have though. One things that the age of fire can somehow lead to the age of dragons, the other thinks that dark will do it.
I don't know if either know what they are doing.

I think it's also worth noting that hydras have something to do with dragons.
>kill kalameet in the past in what is an empty darkroot basin
>darkroot basin now has a hydra in it in the present
>ash lake, area known for dragons and even has another dragon in it

>hydras have some similarities to serpents.
Although that last bit might be pushing it. Maybe it works like how giants turn into trees when they die.

Well you can completely eliminate hollowing once you get it. The MC or Aldia may have found a way to remove it.

Charge_manus.jpg

If anyone was wondering why the Abyss Watchers were all attacking each other it's because at least one of them was infected with the Abyss.

One of the Watchers who stands up during the first phase of the fight has red glowing eyes. And the other Watchers attack him and vice versa. Manus and the other creatures of the Abyss in Dark Souls 1 have red glowing eyes as well. Other creatures who have red glowing eyes are the transforming oil slick assholes in the High Wall of Lothric and they're super fucked up which the Abyss tends to do.

Then the biggest reason that leads me to believe Farron Keep being infected with the Abyss is the wondering Darkwraiths. And Hawkwood has said that Abyss Watchers would destroy entire cities if there was even a whiff of the Abyss in them so it can definitely lead to the Watchers going all Warhammer 40k Inquisition on each other.

Are you beyond retarded, this is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever seen in a Dark Souls thread including that guy who thought that Gwyndolin magically became a girl because he was raised that way
The flame is dwindling because of entropy, it just happens over time, that's why it continually needs to be kindled
I don't say this much but for you I really mean it, kill yourself, your abject stupidity and the fact that you obviously smugly think you are right makes me hate you on a cellular level, end your life so the world can be a better place
>>
>>334894106
Probably just before the last boss.
It's pretty hard IIRC.
Also learning all about what Gherman did before your final confrontation makes the most sense from a story Perspektive
>>
>>334894185
That definitely makes sense, but then again red eyes usually just means that the enemy is just stronger, note the one blue knight in lothric, the few hollows in the village.

Maybe the legion is just having a fight club
>>
>>334893617
>Boletaria
You tried.

So I beat the game earlier and went with the ending "End Of Fire"

What does that mean happened?
From what I understood before it happened, I was going to put an end to the cycle of repetition with lords of fire etc, but sometime in the future the world would have its own little fires. As if each person would eventually generate their own flame, or own soul to brighten the world.

Or did I essentially just do a "fuck you bad ending" shit.

ALSO!!

Why wasnt this game the second Dark Souls game, didnt the second game confirm you didnt light the fire in 1, and now this confirms you lit the fire in 1, So 3 confirms that there are multiple lords who need to sit on their throne and burn?
>>
>>334893617
So the only countrys to survive for an extended period of time is Catarina, Carim and I guess Vinheim, whereas the rest are destroyed.?

>dark souls equivalent of a Mongolian horde that comes and goes through the ages
>>
>>334894451
That seems kind of an odd idea. What was the reasoning for that?

>>334894543
Well yeah it serves three purposes. First, it's a callback to Demons Souls. Second, It denotes it is a more powerful variant of that enemy. Third, The Abyss while corrupting in its nature, also powers things up but that comes at the price of losing your sense of self.
>>
>>334891771
Yeah just like it was in Dark Souls 2.
>>
>>334894585
Gwyn's age of fire ends, and the next age begins. Eventually after many many years, a new age of fire will come.
>>
>>334891096
I wouldn't know, Star Wars is for children.
>>
>>334894585
Endings of 1&2 don't matter. If you lit the fire Dark souls 3 takes place. If you didn't some other Undead will come along and do your job for you.

The only thing that might matter is that DaS 2 PC has the anti hollowing crown with would allow him to live forever while retaining their sanity.

So here's my theory for dark souls 3. We already know that Manus has split into shards and we know that the primordial serpents have been using manus from the start, at the very least they got oolacile to wake him up, at most manus is also the pygmy and the primordial serpents got him to commit the first sin, stealing the dark soul/breaking it up to create humanity.

Now moving onto DS3. We know from DS2, that each shard of manus went to a kingdom and either inadvertently or on purpose tried to cause their downfall.

Looking at lothric we have the mad king Oceiros and the princes. It seems a little fishy that both Oceiros and the young prince are crazy. Its possible that the mother was a shard of manus. If not the direct mother at least the caregiver. She could have directly convinced the eldest son to go fight this demon king, knowing he would die. She then convinces Oceiros to use his blood through some arcane ritual in the grand archives to bring back his eldest son, knowing he would stumble upon the seath worship and go crazy. She may have poisoned the youngest son. Causing his illness and eventual, you guessed it, madness.

Also Yuria mentions Kaathe if you kill her, also there is a statue of a primordial serpent in the grand archives. The serpents have been playing the long game, slowly corrupting and destroying kingdoms. This continues with the profaned capital and Irithyll.

Firelink Shrine is the only area on the map that isn't kiln that isn't connected geographically to the other areas

You find Dark Firelink Shrine in untended graves, with Andre's hammer, which could imply it's the real one, especially considering it isn't likely they're two different shrines as the thrones read the same names and have all the same details

And finally, the solar eclipse never occurs in firelink, even though you see it throughout the world AND in kiln
>>
>>334896120
>Princes
I thought it was implied the elder prince was born in the first place from some ritual, then the younger prince was somehow born naturally and got cursed when he killed the fucked up older prince.

Ocerios went crazy because his dragon waifu took his child. He then found seaths research and began trying to lure his dragon waifu back by trying to grow a dragon dick.

Lothric is one of the few Kindled that actually kept their sanity. Lorian had never died, he slayed the Fire demon, which is why his blade is charred. They left because they didnt want to link the flame.

Humanity becomes dragons after going full Hollow and usurping the fire will lead to another age of everlasting dragons.

This is why hollows become those strange trees and become those skeletal flying nervous systems. They're unable to properly form because the age of fire is still going on.

This is why dragons also breathe fire.

Those were hollows flying around? Creepy. And even if they were, I don't get why hollows turn into trees and apparently flying cardiovascular systems.

Even giants can go hollow and when they do and turn into trees, there's no explanation as to why. Plus they never turn into flying spooky things even after being trees for a really long time.

Arch-dragon Peak doesn't exist. It's entirely within the Ashen One's mind.

>Ornstiens has a distinct lion face

Once again, the description on the axe and shield say they're forged out of the armor, explaining the differences.

Dragonslayer Armor is the Ornstein fight, there's been one in every game.

So if the Deep (sea) is just a darker version of dark (humanity), is it the true form of the next step of the natural cycle that keeps being unnaturally postponed (age of dark)?

Is it equally as unnatural as extending the age of fire so much, or is it just a more simplistic super Abyss? The Abyss and dark aren't inherently evil or bad, it just threatens the age of fire status quo because it naturally follows after fire, but the Deep was implied to be much more sinister and alluded to cosmic lovecraftian horror and nightmares.

Also what's the theory on the writhing infection we see in THE CHAMP, the wyverns, and certain hollows? An overflow of humanity linked to Abyss corruption, or is it related to the Deep?

It's not Ornstein, but it is his armor. It looks like him, we've had fights with him in every other game in the series and any discrepancies are explained away by the soul weapons saying they were forged from it.

The whole reason why Archdragon peak does not change to the eclipse is probably a simple fudge regarding the game engine/setting of the zone.

The entire point of it is leading up to you ringing the bell, changing the zone's atmosphere and skybox to the storm arena. Pretty sure they either technically couldn't account for versions with the eclipse or were aware, but it wouldn't fit the atmosphere of the boss fights.

The only similiaity is the Golden scaled armor. Probably given to many of Gwyns Dragonslayers.

He missing Ornstiens shoulder pads, his lion face, Spear. The helmets are even different, Dragonslayers armor has tusks coming out the mouth.

Dragonslayer armor you pick up behind Nameless King even specifically says Ornstien went looking for Nameless King. The Leo Ring says Ornstien trained under Gwyns Firstborn (who is obviously the nameless king)

The Spear you pick up behind nameless king says Ornstien by name.

Smoughs armor says Ornstien left to go find the nameless king.

Its more likely that armor belonged to Gwyns firstborn, considering its location.

>Probably given to many of Gwyns Dragonslayers.

Gough doesn't have it.

>He missing Ornstiens shoulder pads, his lion face, Spear. The helmets are even different, Dragonslayers armor has tusks coming out the mouth.

The boss soul weapons explicitly say they've been forged from it, easily explaining away any discrepancies. Even then, every design helmet you picked has a corresponding element in the Dragonslayer armor.

>Dragonslayer armor you pick up behind Nameless King even specifically says Ornstien went looking for Nameless King.

Everything in Archdragon peak is fake. It's something you make up in your mind, just like everything in Firelink is something Ludleth made up. The Dragonslayer Armor you pick up is just that, while the one which exists in the real world is the boss.

The fact that such a place exists isn't an illusion, but it's certainly questionable whether or not you ever actually went there. Your character just meditates, then goes unconscious. The dragon's roar could be interpreted as being your ride to Archdragon Peak, but it could just as easily be something you hear in your mind as your consciousness is taken there. The lack of an eclipse even backs that up.

Gough wasnt a dragonslayer. Gough was just one of Gwyns 4 knights. Artorias also wasnt a dragonslayer

Show me proof anything in this game is made up. I asked earlier and you decided not to respond.

The boss item descriptions are as follows
>Melted iron greataxe that once formed part of the Dragonslayer Armour. Thickly imbued with the power of lightning. Use skill to draw upon the techniques used to slay the archdragons.
>Melted iron shield that once formed part of the Dragonslayer Armour. The shield offers high protection to lightning, which the Dragonslayer commanded as his own, and its Skill has faint echoes of the Dragonslayer's own fighting style.

Neither explain why the boss himself uses a Greataxe and Shield and not a Spear, just that they were formed from the soul. Or why the bosses helmet looks nothing like Ornstiens.

For the player to be able to wear a fake peice of armor would mean everything is in the players mind, not Ludleths, which makes everything fake, including Dragonslayers Armor boss. But there is not actual source to say anything is fake so you cant be spouting headcanon.

so let me get this straight

All the lords of cinder are individuals whom have previously linked the fire, and become ash right

And then some big fuck off dues ex bell wakes them up because they need to do it again soon or something

But they're like naw fuck yall and 4/5 of them go off to do their own thing

Then at some point later on, another ringading happens that wakes YOU up (because you are "ashen" as well) and you go sort them out

See I didnt think that the lords were previous linkers of the flame, but the little midget on the throne in Firelink outright mentions linking the flame previously, so i'm wondering if thats what it means to be a lord of cinder?
>>
>>334898721
First use is definitely as a title. Both Father and Sister get capitalised.
In dialogue after that it's all lowercase, well father is anyway. I haven't caught any mention of sister since the first time. I still have to max covenant though.
>>
>>334902176
you were woken up at about the same time as Aldrich, so I assume you awoke at the same time the other lords of cinder did.

The lords of Cinder save Ludleth went mad for one reason or another, and Ashen ones are basically a last ditch effort by the fucked up cycle to light the flame.

>Gough wasnt a dragonslayer

Greatbow used by Hawkeye Gough, of Lord
Gwyn's Four Knights, for dragon slaying.

This bow is larger than those used by
the famed Dragonslayers. Only their leader,
Gough, had the strength to handle it.

>Show me proof anything in this game is made up. I asked earlier and you decided not to respond.

I don't have the text, but it's when you talk to Ludleth with the eyes. He says he willed a new Firelink into existence.

>Neither explain why the boss himself uses a Greataxe and Shield and not a Spear, just that they were formed from the soul.

They say explicitly they were part of the dragonslayer armor. The Dragonslayer Armor uses them in battle. Every boss soul weapon that's used by the boss doesn't bother describing how YOU created the boss soul weapon, only ones where the connection to the boss isn't immediately obvious do that.

>Or why the bosses helmet looks nothing like Ornstiens.

It looks a lot like Ornstein's. But it's explained by having pieces of it being cut out and the armor being repaired.

>For the player to be able to wear a fake peice of armor would mean everything is in the players mind, not Ludleths

What the fuck are you talking about? You're creating objects with your mind. That's what Ludleth did, and that's what you do in Arch-dragon peak.

>>334902176
Correct. All the Lord's of cinder are previous linkers of the flame, willingly or no. As with Gwynn this burned them down to hollow coals. Loric and his brother were supposed to link the flame next but refused, and the dying of the flame caused the summoning Bell to be rung. This raised the hollowed remains of the Lord's from their grave, as well as anyone previously sacrificed and burned up by the flame - IE, you. I suspect given your lowely stature the player character, the ashen champion, was a bonfire sacrifice - your bones were used as kindling somewhere for a bonfire.

>>334902416
The timescale would suggest he is alive and the pontiff betrays Gwyndolin and feeds him to Aldrich when he awakens, but there's no way to determine how much time passes between the bell first ringing and you making your way into London, especially with the dimensions and causality all fucked up.
