a really great sequel that works interesting multiplayer moments such as player-owned dungeons into the single player campaign. So many people hate this game but I really don't get it. It's the one time I think a huge amount of quantity makes up for a slight hit in quality.

DaS2 is like the Silent Hill 4 of the Souls series.
Dark Souls 2 is the only Souls game I've beat. I'm actually replaying it instead of getting Dark Souls 3

The whole situation of DaS2 is quite interesting, really. It's one of those games where you're so fucking hype for more Dark Souls and everything seems fantastic when you begin. More levels, more gameplay mechanics, more weapons, more covenants, etc etc etc.
The hype might carry you through the entire long-ass playthrough. But even if the "magic" lasts that long, you won't be able to make it through a NG+ while still addicted to it. I played it through at launch, but I couldn't play it a second time. It just felt soulless, no pun intended. And there are a billion reasons that lead to this feeling of superficial satisfaction followed by apathy and disdain. It's the physics, slippery imprecise loose controls, bland graphic design/atmosphere, bland level design, fucked up multiplayer, etc etc etc.
I bought SotFS when it went on sale for 10 bucks a couple of months ago as well. I thought "maybe I'm wrong, it's a good game, and it's time to give it another shot". Stopped playing after the 3rd area or so. Couldn't stomach it.

Someone posted this a while ago and I agree, that it has a very "fairy tale" theme to it. A queen who poisons herself to retain her beauty, two separated lovers who communicate by bell, a nemesis figure, a dragon in a birdcage, intelligent rats guarding a tomb from desecration, a man who goes around helping people by building secret passages and traps, a singing frog demon, all that.

The issue is that SotFS doesn't fucking let you transfer over your goddamn saves. You need to start fresh and get there from a new start. So I tried that, but I just couldn't force myself through it again to get to the new areas.

A souls game? I know people like to meme because of an eceleb crying that he played like a retard and couldnt handle more than one enemy at ince or be assed to figure out how to stop ambushes, but thats really all it is, a souls game.
A good game and a good way to pass the time untill from fixes the problems with DS3
