Gwyn isn't a giant.
There are two original races in Dark Souls, hollows and giants. Hollows became humans when the Lord Souls were discovered, when the Dark Soul was distributed to all of them. The Hollows with Lord Souls became the same thing but just bigger relative to the size and power of their Lord Soul.
Take Gwyn's lord soul away and he would be a regular-sized hollow.
Take Gough's lord soul fragment away and he'd still be a massive motherfucker.

I saw a lot of people interpreting "the end of fire" ending as the end of the current age of fire and the beginning of a new one. But if I recall correctly the fire keeper say something like "tiny flame will dance across the darkness". I think it mean something like the first flame will never happen again, instead A LOT of tiny flame will appear everywhere. The fire is split equally, there won't be any god, only normal human. That's why the dark age was called the age of men in DS1.

Listen, the Dragonslayers were an order of Silver Knights. Ornstein's armor is very, very unique. Each of the Four Knights had an animal motif, wolf, lion, hawk, horney, and they had custom designed armors that reflected their animal.

The abyss is fucking horrible and could destroy the world if left alone, and artorias who they obviously revere was hailed as a hero for fighting off the abyss. I get the impression that the abyss watchers selflessly fought a war without end, and the whole wolf blood joining ceremony had finality to it, like you became brothers by blood once you joined and your life was now dedicated to fighting the abyss, which isn't exactly an evil cause. Obviously some of they became corrupted due to exposure, or they started to get suspicious and paranoid about each other (the descriptions of them toppling whole kingdoms would certainly support them being paranoid about the abyss) and it all ended in a fateful night where they began slaughtering their own brothers and friends. Since they are undead, they will have rose repeatedly, just to have to kill their old friends over and over or be killed, until they went fully hollow and died or just insane. I get the impression that the one you fight initially still has some sort of wits about him, and is trying to stop the abyss infected watchers from leaving, which is quite a selfless act, he even does the abyss watcher equivalent of a bow before you fight. The sad music to me seems to invoke the feeling that this is kind of a mercy killing like artorias was
