Who else agrees the introduction of the Zero suit was the start of the downfall of the Metroid series?

NES game is only notable for how bullshit it is and the fact that you move left at the start instead of right
super metroid only has lasting popularity because of it's speedrunning community, which is only a thing because the game is so poorly coded you can skip everything. the actual game is a clunky/slow as fuck shooter where you spend half the time wandering through the same hallways looking for the next door/wall you just unlocked the weapon to open
metroid prime 1 was a decent console FPS but then the sequels completely shit the bed with gimmicks and pace breaking cutscenes
every other game in the series is crap and nobody pretends to like it, the only reason it gets the time of day is because of speedrun autism and "dude she's a girl but she kicks ass this gets my dick hard" autism

Echoes was where the downfall started.
Keep in mind I'm not saying Echoes and Corruption were both awful dogshit.
But the lower quality started with Echoes. Echoes was amazing in almost every regard, but Prime was amazing in every regard. Corruption was above average on it's best day though.
After Echoes, I started noticing things were becoming more streamlined and decisions were being made to make the game series more "accessible".
It's unfair to put all of the blame on Other M, although that game is awful nonsense.
The drop in quality and production value started after Prime.
It was obvious after playing Echoes for a while that Nintendo started giving less attention and care for the series overall and it only got worse after that really.

Fusion was still just average at best.
Echoes was the eye opener that they didn't care anymore though.
Over time, I've realized Fusion was not as good as I thought when it first came out. It has a lot of problems.
