Why did it go so wrong?

This is the same strategy I'm using on Battlefront, and so far it's paid off
Game still doesn't look worthwhile, and still isn't 20 buck.
But, the Battlefront beta was actually fun.
doom 4 is not doom AT ALL and i doubt the singleplayer feels ANYTHING like it

I felt like I had a lot more to lose when I acquired a weapon that wasn't able to be purchased from the other side.
It worked the same being at terrorist with an M4.
Why don't any games do this anymore?

its funny how TF2 added that -copied from csgo- for no reason and doom 4 removes it for no reason either
maybe the concept of picking up weapons is too confusing for the halo audience they are going for ? not sure if halo has it

Regardless of how it was going to look, I was always going to be more hyped for Serious Sam IV than Doom 4.
After Doom 3 I don't think iD really understood what made the previous games popular. That or they didn't care and wanted to attract a different audience.
