How's that gaming related Youtube channel coming along anon.
I'm too shy to talk on the mic have other people critique my work.
>>334715284
I feel like you can't even get into it nowadays. I was planning on starting one, just to record myself sperging out while playing some fun vydia, but YT is so saturated with these it's not even worth it anymore.

I make playthroughs and reviews of old games, as well as let's plays of obscure spooky/weird games. Check it out if it interests you, thanks!

I feel the same way, but every time I start writing a review or editorial I get cold feet and stop. I get too hung up on whether or not what I'm saying is worth a actually damn. Like, if my perspective is interesting/unique enough to warrant a video's existence on a site with hordes of people all trying to do the same kind of thing. The actual writing is fine, and I'm not trying to mimic anyone's style or anything, but still I can't seem to shake my anxiety over this.
Like I shouldn't put out my first video until I actually have something unique to say. Since so many other people are doing it and almost everything has been done before, I keep getting frustrated and quitting to start over on something new. I've scrapped like five decent video ideas already because of this as my channel sits there with zero uploads on it.
It's making me a little depressed desu.
Anyone have any tips for getting over this and building confidence or whatever.

Subbed.

Getting over the creativity meme. It was invented by 17th and 18th century artists to bash their forebears while ripping everything off that walked under the sun.
>>334716747
I work as a journalist and I have to put out between 25,000 and 30,000 words a week to feed myself and pay the bills and live this lavish non-poverty lifestyle
One thing that helps me is to literally just bank content. Prepare yourself to know that some weeks or some days you just aren't going to feel like working, but if you stop working, you're going to hurt yourself in the long run. It's like, shutting your car down for a 10-15 minute break instead of keeping it revved up. Bank content, plan ahead, and don't worry about saturation because the important thing is that you literally just have fun with it. If you're not having fun with it, you don't need another job
>>334717021
Oh gee, thanks anon!
Starting one with my friends
>>334715284
6k views on my most recent guide. I really ought to do more. I need better thumbnails but I'm pretty retarded and shit tier at editing.
What's the best free video editing software out there guys?
>>334717563
None of the good ones are free.
If you're serious about making videos I'd consider investing in a paid one.
Or, you know, stealing a paid one.
>>334715284
>video games
Of course you would you fucking manchild. Make a video about something important instead, like jews.
Literally what else can you do that hasn't been done already?
Only been doing it for about a month but having fun and learning a lot. Posted some Battleborn open beta for the weekend, going to get back to hyper light drifter and ftl tonight. Have some Downwell sans commentary as well. Criticism and feedback welcome!

The only one I have personal experience with is the Apple one from high school classes I took. I own windows obviously. Is that one still any decent and runnable on windows or should I stick with Adobe?
Trying to get my confidence to do it actually.
I have many ideas, but I feel like whatever I do or say wouldn't matter like >>334716747 said. Almost everything has been covered in some way or form, and I don't really want to become another shameless copycat or lackluster LPer.
To make things worse, I'm aspic, so I don't really know if I should make videos on my language or try to reach out a little more.
I guess I should try writing some scripts on my spare time and just see how it goes.
>>334719637
If you have an accent it actually makes you a bit more popular from what I've noticed. Try few unscripted or stream on twitch for like a week. It got me used to speaking and the camera.
I know this isn't incredibly relevant to /v/ but I've been wanting to start a 2 person (and maybe sometimes a guest) anime podcast for current season ramblings. Only problem is I can't find someone that keeps up with more then 2 or so shows per season and I don't know if me posting just solo vids is the format I really want. If anyone would be interested in here or has some advice let me know.
My friend has been streaming for a full year straight consistently and only has maybe 5 viewers on a good day.
You missed the bubble.
My power supply just kicked the bucket so I won't be able to do anything until the weekend
Also whats a good editing program? Adobe has its shit on a subscription so I'd like to avoid that
>>334722302
Just started streaming a few months ago and I do 80 concurrent on my main game on twitch. YouTube gaming has always been dead unless you have an already established channel. Don't now how your friend is doing so bad but I have friends that upload on a regular for over a year to YouTube and get 7 views a video. How do they keep going?
>>334715284
Ive uploaded about 20 videos so far in the last 45 days.
Got 1 more to encode and 5 more to still upload.
Then Im not sure what im going to do.
I've lost a lot of my views in the past year or so.
I think its because all the games I chose to do majorly bombed.
Nosgoth is shutting down.
DayZ SA was a fucking train wreck so there was nothing to go to after the mod series I did.
Battlefield 4 was a fucking horrendous mess of glitches and like 5 tickrate.
I got really good at Smite and im like a platinum or diamond player but we lost our 3rd,
so every time I record a game it usually just ends up with us cussing nonstop at our retarded romanian 3rd playing mage and building him as a tank.
I might make a shit ton of guides for Smite since I really like showing people how to play correctly.
Everyone plays my favorite character wrong and I will show them how.
Video related: its me playing Chang'e.

just do video that pander to niche once I made a video about a doom wad from doom general and end up having 300-500 views.
I've always wanted to do a YouTube series where I play an old game, pull it apart and analyse how it works, then compare that to its modern equivalent.
See what's changed, what's been missed or replaced.
Then I realised that it would take a lot of work, would be pretty boring to most people, and that I kind of suck at videogames, so i don't bother with it.
I want to do a lp channel with my friend.
here's the kicker thoughMy friends a smashfag and will bash games for the stupidest reasons the latest one was that he didn't want to play vanquish because it's made by platnum games
>>334726662
he sounds like a 4chan fag and those make for the worst channels
>>334726719I think he's just not wanting to be outdone in any other game.He loves smash but dissent like traditional fighting games like Sf. Strangly he loves MK though
>>334718267
Adobe Premiere Pro is fucking fantastic; if you have it you should stick with it.
>>334727025
If you have CS4/5 or below (I think) you can only use nvidia cards to gpu encode with. I think Radeon support wasnt added until the pay jew version. CC or whatever its called. You have to also manually add the card in the premiere's gpu list or it wont be able to utilize it.
My group of friends started one.
Then we all went back to college and stopped giving a fuck and deleted it.
I'd make one if I was good at an underrepresented game, but I'm not.

Sometimes I want feel like starting off a gaming/art channel but I a similar feeling.
I've posted a video that has 660k views but it was just a dumb music meme thing. (too cringy to share, made it a long time ago).

This is moreso the normal content I do if you want to see

https://www.youtube.com/c/shovelwarehouse
Just got past a thousand subscribers. Still truckin'. Now that I'm back from a big trip I went on, I need to start thinking about branching out a bit. Even if it's as simple as increasing my schedule from a video every three days, to every two days instead.
I want to keep it 'shovelware-related', whatever I do. I don't like the idea of just suddenly going "AND NOW I PLAY DARK SOULS HERE TOO".
>>334730343
but dark souls is shovelware
Shit, uploaded the first video for a long time today though, might get back into it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_npz72UMlE
I'm doing a let's play where I go out of my way to never mention the game that I'm playing. It's incredibly asinine, I mostly just make up mundane stories.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXamhRBouGs
Be warned, Sparkle Dart is not supposed to be funny or interesting.
i kinda wanna do a thing. I play so many diverse games i was wondering if i could pull off a "how not to be a complete shitter" type of thing.
With that i mean basic tips for <game> that'll help along newbies or those that need help in order to advance. It'd be things like, parrying is preferred over dodging in revengeance, the drake sword from souls, stuff like that.
In mp more oriented about basic tactics to remember as you play.
I dunno, it's not completely clear in my head, but i just can't bring myself to try for some reason. Maybe i've seen so much of it that i'm blind to it. Maybe i'm just too afraid of coming off as arrogant if i do it. Who knows.
>>334731808
I would click a video titled "How To Not Be a Complete Shitter At: [vidja]" if it popped up, if only for the straightforward title
>>334715284
I don't even have a channel but I think these threads are thecomfieston /v/. I guess they're more intimate and it's inspiring and entertaining to check out newer/lesser known channels.
How the fuck do you even navigate to the gaming subsection from youtube's personalized front page?
>>334730051
Same kind of shit here.
I made a random, literally five second clip as a joke in response to a /tv/ post that I put zero effort into and it's the only video I've made to ever receive views.
Since I posted it, it's at almost 100k views.
>>334733091
Yeah that's what i'm thinking. something along those lines anyways. Like, "how to get good at <x>" to get the memesters in. That's the extent of my "marketing" anyways.
And obviously it'd be with text over gameplay, showing what i mean without having to actually talk so the focus is only on the game.
>>334729170
>https://www.youtube.com/c/shovelwarehouse
I dont understand how the user has 326k views on that vid which is funny and well-received, but only 100 subs. Is it really that tricky to get people the click the button?
>>334715284
So since Youtube is doing that thing where you can pay to get rid of the ads, is using adblock piracy now?
Been doing longplays with no commentary mainly on my channel.
Did this one back in January https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm98z5ne46s
And I just got done with a Nier one today for now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvyrePVXLP0
Though I'm probably going to redo it at some point and edit it together so it's a full video rather than just split up into parts like it is now (as well as all of the ones I do from now on, just gotta test with premiere and shit first).
Also have been considering uploading some full game OST's that I dig here and there. I upload openings and stuff anyway so I don't see why not.

Usually in order to get subscribers you have to ask for them directly. Same for getting likes and comments. It's part of the whole call to action thing they teach in the Youtube Creator Academy. Personally I don't bother with that because most of the lessons in said academy are designed for the Youtuber that wants attention and an audience, and not for those who want to create good, decent content and earn an audience through that.
