This. I thought about this the other day and this is just kind of it. Also Pokémon stadium was pretty boring besides the visuals. It was just such a step up in visuals it seemed really cool at the time.
The new 3DS games have better graphics than the N64 stadium games so it's not really that interesting anymore.

pokemon, in theory, could have an utterly massive amount of character customization since unlike many other games a pokemon trainer is not limited by anything, they can be as old as you want them to be and anything above something like the age of 8 is possible. They don't have to be physically fit in any way to function, their clothes don't need to be practical heck a paraplegic could be a pokemon trainer if his wheelchair had an arm for throwing pokeballs

Their excuse was basically "Kalos is France, and France is all about Fashion". Which means by his logic, no other region changes clothes, other than for events like contests. All the same clothes from the day you're born.

But Battle Revolution was not a spin off like Coloseum or XD Gale of Darkness. I always had the feeling it was designed to showcase the gen IV mons in 3D whereas Coloseum and XD were RPG's with storylines. They are a lot harder than normal games too with fucking Evice and his Slaking/Slowking skill swap shit. Plus the movesets were a lot better.
That is probably the reason why we will never get a new spin off RPG like those 2, because these games have to be easy to beat.
