Marked One and the Courier.

Sure, if they could understand what the hell the other was saying.

Chances are slim that some mailman from the post-apocalyptic mojave would know Ukrainian.

>>334567704
The Courier would have a hard time adapting to the magical realism of Chernobyl, they have no anomalies in the mojave.

Meanwhile, Marked One doesn't seem the type of guy who'd know how to handle robots and lasers.

Those two games have very different versions of radiation, it's really interesting.

Xenthippe Ray was raised in extreme poverty under draconian technofetishists, and learned to equate technology with power. Between her intelligence, resourcefulness, and utter bullheaded stubbornness, she got out from her humble upbringing and has consistently hoarded tech in a subconscious effort to never feel vulnerable again. Fortunately for her, a hellish experience in the Sierra Madre taught her the importance of letting go, and she subsequently devoted her talents to installing a nigh-omnipotent overlord who understands the value of technology, but has no vested interest in controlling the lives of his citizens.

I don't think it matters which you play first. I can't think of anything you'd spoil in 1 by playing 2 first, besides some vague references to the player in FO1. You could also play them at the same time
>>
>>334575195
>Reminder that New Vegas is the perfect ending to the series.
Obsidian has no right to end a series they neither created nor own
>Reminder that it combines superior Fallout 1 tone with amount of content to rival Fallout 2 and focus on faction warfare
Absolutely none of that is true. if New Vegas has Fo1's tone then we'd be seeing new built houses and refurbished buildings beyond the strip. But no, according to Obsidian the west is now the same as the east when it comes to rebuilding.

Faction quests and interactions with each other are so few and far apart that there might as well not be any factions at all, the only time factions come in to play is direct interaction with the player, which still is very little.
>>
>>334575795
Tim Cain works in Obsidian nowadays, so does Leo Boyarsky :^)
>seeing new built houses
There's no point in that as Mojave was scarcely hit by nukes (a minor plot point), so there was no widespread destruction to ruin/irradiate the buildings. Why build a new building when you can live in a functioning old one?
>>
>>334575960
>Tim Cain works in Obsidian nowadays, so does Leo Boyarsky
Great, they have a programmer and an artist, but that's not the entire team and neither are they important memebers.
Obsidian didn't create Fallout
>There's no point in that as Mojave was scarcely hit by nukes (a minor plot point), so there was no widespread destruction to ruin/irradiate the buildings.
Normally I'd chalk this up as someone saying they're trolling, but since this is Obsidian we're talking about I know you're legitimately retarded, your brain cannot fathom being wrong so you conveniently don't remember 90% of New Vegas.
>>
>>334576373
>neither are they important memebers
>Tim Cain
>In 1994 he started for a couple of months as the only employee working on a game which would later become the post-apocalyptic CRPG game Fallout.[4] He lay out the basic concept based on the GURPS system and began programming the isometric game engine. He also took over the producer role from Thomas R. Decker who had to supervise multiple other projects at the time.
He literally created Fallout. Add the famous art style to engine and systems (Boyarsky), and you have your cult classic franchise. Oh, and the map designer who made LITERALLY ALL THE FO1 maps (and about a third of FO2 ones), Scott "ScottE" Everets? Yeah, was in Obsidian, worked on New Vegas.

Well, he's the man who created Fallout, so, by that guy's logic he should be the authority. He now works in Obsidian so, unless he resigns and joins another studio and makes another Fallout, by his logic we have Vegas as the last legit one.

Though I like the idea of ScottE being the literal "creator" of Fallout as he literally created every single map of that game. Poor guy.

But you already admitted that he never worked on New Vegas, so even if he did create fallout how could New Vegas be "legit" without the supposed creator never having worked on it?
>>
>>334577334
He joined the studio right after it, obviously he was so enamoured with the result he decided he must give them their blessing.
>>
>>334564441
Hm. I have never played the first and second games (call me what you will) but Fallout: New Vegas wasn't all bad, nor was it horrible. If you compare it to Fallout 3 you could say it had more features and all that jazz. If you compare it to Fallout 4 you could say that there were less things. Certain things that weren't in the previous, but fallout 3 had some things that New Vegas didnt and so on and so forth. So for me Fallout: New Vegas is still a great game! Same with fallout 4, though fallout 4 could've done without the hit markers and should have added other things at the beginning of the game it pretty much still brought me hours upon hours of entertainment its the same with the other two previous games.
>>
>>334577249
Honestly, you're coming off pretty retarded yourself, mister agreeable.

Tim Cain built the engine, invented the setting, and was one of the designers of the RPG system for Fallout, which had to be created from scratch after they lost the GURPS license. He not only started the project by himself, he was in charge of it through most of its development.

Don't beat around the bush, New Vegas is only a Fallout game by the title and world it's supposedly set in.
>Tim Cain built the engine, invented the setting, and was one of the designers of the RPG system for Fallout
Except he didn't, he started it and then pretty much stood around saying "yeah great work!" while everyone else made the Fallout we know and love today, if Tim Cain actually created Fallout it would have been a VERY different game and would have never become famous.

You even admit he didn't create fallout, which means this argument is over.
I hope you stop droning some day.

House has a factory and a giant generator in the form of Hoover Dam, assuming you sided with him. He also has the Courier at his side of we go that route since he's the only faction that you don't directly lead that keeps you at his side. Also he's smart as hell and unless the Institute made a synth of the Courier (which would require capturing and interrogating them, anyways), they wouldn't have much of a chance to getting inside the Lucky 38.

The only thing the Institute has is a robot army that has shit laser weapons. Their best asset are the Coursers but they're limited in numbers and equipped with the same shitty Institute gear. They would get anal blasted by upgraded Securitrons. Also they're suffering a power deficit unless you side with them which just about nobody did. Like I said before doubt you could read it though, it's the only 3D fallout game that isn't complete garbage, and since BoS Tactics and Shelter are more spinoff games than mainline games, we're left with New Vegas.

Apparently this is the source, but what anon was saying about being released too early is taken way out of context. This is the director of Obsidian during Fallout NV btw.

Apparently they had to work with the fallout engine and some of the proper documentation was not present so they struggled a bit. They also needed to make the game mod-friendly so they had difficulty with that. He said because of all these troubles, they realized they had to cut some dialogue to make it in time for the release. That is all he said. He actually complements the engine on how you could create massive RPG worlds.

One of the interesting things he does say is that it is impossible for the Fallout Engine (Gamebryo) not to have glitches as it is made to be very lax on rules of the game for the mods.

>>
>>334582472
If they would have had enough time to put in all the legion content, they would have just tried to put in some other unfinished stuff. They could have never finished their original plan, not within 2 years or even 3 years.
Scripts in the finished game actually hint at them originally planning to have a post-game with the different factions actually taking over New Vegas.
>>
>>334582438
South Park was finished.
Both NWN2 expansions were finished.
Pillars of Eternity was finished.
Dungeon Siege III was finished.

The only games that they've released that are unfinished all had sub 2 year development cycles with the exception of NWN2, which had it's director bail during development and they had to rework the whole project. This is why the first 1/3rd of the game is shit and the remainder is so good.

They were told what to do
>Both NWN2 expansions were finished.
This is probably their only case of not being completely fucking retarded
>Pillars of Eternity was finished.
It's widely considered a terrible game
>Dungeon Siege III was finished.
They were told what to do

Obsidian hatefags are the worst kind of hypocrite. They blame Obsidian fans for making excuses, yet they make even more excuses themselves every time they're proven wrong in some way.

Sorry, in 20 years no one will remember Dragon Age or Fallout 3, but Obisidian's games will remain cult classics forever.

>It's widely considered a terrible game
It's one of their highest rated games on Metacritic both by critics and user reviews. Codex gonna Codex, but their (your?) opinions are fringe.

>They were told what to do
That's not true, even the engine was developed from a scratch. Ironically, it's also one of the least buggy Obs games.

Is there a mod or something for new vegas that lets me skip the beginning. I played the first few hours so many times that I just can't stomach them anymore.

Is this how you usually respond when people call you out on your hypocrisy?

>THEY SUCK THEY CAN'T MAKE GAMES, ALL OF THEIR GAMES ARE UNFINISHED
>Well, what about these games that were finished?
>LOL, THOSE DON'T COUNT BECAUSE I SAY SO

I can never for the life of me understand why people rank New Vegas over Fallout 3. Fallout 3 had so many Easter Eggs and implied underlying stories. There wasn't a side quest every five feet, but every location had something cool/unique to find in it and experience. I had all the hope for New Vegas - and I don't hate it - but I will never forget being so very disappointed when I went to location after location in New Vegas with nothing to find/discover there.

In Fallout 3 there are various cities and towns with more life than any of the villages in FNV including The strip etc. in Fallout 3 the atmosphere of the towns and villages is actually something that looks post apocalyptic whereas FNV was more western like instead of Post apoc. Generally the whole atmosphere and feeling of Fallout 3 was more Post apoc.

The 'official' story is he was in a weird position at Obsidian. Like a producer, but more in the end of running the company. In this position he wasn't doing what he loved 'writing' so he left.

But I think some shit went down with PoE. What with the whole Grieving Mother and Durance.

I think the more or less common theory is that Feargus wanted to play things safe and that just wasn't creative enough for Avellone. It's still strange, and when you consider things he says, like Bethesda being source of Fallout lore and that he'd much rather work with them, or that he worked on Tranny... It's all pretty damn weird.

Dr.Eisenberg, former german scientist dragged into Mojave for some reason.
Rejects lead spewing guns and normal food, sticks to energy weapons and explosives and is now a hardcore chem addict.

Going to do either 1 INT, gun centric tard build or sneaky, silened weapons only smoothtalker next.

NV has more of everything than Fallout 4
From content such as quests, towns, weapons, clothing, ect., to even roleplay mechanics.
