It does have more problems than that though. The air control is fucking shit especially when you use the second jump which ends up rape the pacing and momentum to the game. The hack modules are completely worthless and are better off as modifiers in the game settings or power ups/pickups on the map. Loadouts encourages using the best weapons leaving other to collect dust and the equipment use is sketchy at best. Even the melee/glory kills have no sense of weight to them so they feel like an afterthought

The multiplayer is so fucking inconsistent it ends up pleasing almost nobody.

Well I guess it's not fixed, there's like six points where it can spawn on each map, and it uses RNG to decide which point it'll spawn at. I believe the respawn timer is three minutes, although that's not useful info due to the spawn behavior

Loadouts are really shit, because it requires the weapons to be nerfed and reduces the importance of map knowledge and control.
The speed is shit. You move slowly.
The ledge grabbing is shit, it slows the game down without much purpose (there's already double jump for moving around for fuck's sake).
The demon powerup is shit because it just gives you free kills.

Honestly I don't have a problem with skins or taunts, or that kind of cosmetic customization, because they can be fun without affecting gameplay in a negative way.

I mentioned this earlier, but really a classic game mode could fix all these problems. The ledge climbing might be a little harder to fix because the basic maps are designed with it in mind.

Loadouts and slow movement chiefly. Also the weapon balance is ass. There's no reason to use anything other than SSG and LG. And since you can spawn with them you are always god. Rocket launcher is worthless for some reason. 3 direct hits for a kill with splash range of like 2 feet, and a fire rate of 1 rocket per second.

If people want to play DOOM at a higher level than what the beta provided, then it will likely be possible with the in game custom game editor.

Halo 3 had an enormous competitive scene for the duration of Halo 2 and 3's lifespan, but petered out after Reach.

I personally am kind of pissed that it won't likely support community built maps built with something that isn't the cheapo ingame snapmap, which means the environments available at launch or with DLC is literally all we're getting.

I hate Doom 4 but I can't really agree because if you look they actually do flinch quite a bit on hit. Try it with the plasma or lightning gun, they spaz the fuck out when they get hit with those

The real lack of damage feedback is for yourself, there's just a passive little orange arrow that fades in when you get hit. Hard to tell at a glance if it was just 1 bullet that hit you or a full SSG blast. Having no pain scream doesn't help with that at all.

And you know what, I don't know WHAT this game's aesthetic is. It's a clusterfuck. It wants to be arcadey, it wants to be gritty and realistic, it wants to be futuristic, it wants to be tacticool but it also has smooth simplified aesthetics on many objects and especially the scenery is quite reserved (in a design sense, it's real gorey and demonic and satanic but it's not standout so) but put all this together and just.
What the fuck is the art style?

What is the design philosophy? Is this a fast paced arena shooter or a twitch arcade shooter or a visceral combat kind of game? It feels like they tried to add new in with the old and ended up with this mess of a halfway compromise with all the cons of each design choice but few of the benefits.

And taunts can fit the aesthetics take tf2 for instance all the taunts fit the characters despite some being outlandish they still fit the game

Now these taunts certainly do not fit a futuristic game where Demons have invaded and there's halo tier looking armor everywhere

Yes Demons do fit in with the aesthetics since that's what the original doom was. Advanced space weapons and demons that are ripped right out of someones first thought when you say Devil

A one hit wonder short lived meme dance does not fit the aesthetics of demons invading and totally fucking up everything. You could easily have them doing the "I'm watching you" hand sign or putting their middle finger up which is something a grizzled demon fighting space marine would do not some silly little dance
