I like the lengths /v/ goes to discredit someone else's experience with a game, it's pretty enjoyable to read.

I'm having heaps of fun with this game and so is a lot of /v/, the people being bitches are the typical contrarians in every thread for every game and literal autists.

Outside of the glass cannons most characters have plenty of survivability options, and even glass cannons have their tools to survive engagements.

The base charge rate for an ultimate is so slow you'd probably be able to hit it once per game if you were to "just wait for [it]" without doing anything. To actually get decent mileage out of your ults you need to actually do things. Also ults aren't that good. They're barely better than base abilities in most cases.

I'm enjoying it quite a lot. I don't think I've had this much fun in a multiplayer shooter since the Tribes Ascend beta.

I really hope Overwatch doesn't end up like Tribes Ascend not too long after it launched. That game went downhill fast.

The outer circle has to go to the inner circle. When they're matched you can click to instakill. Also the rate in which the circles match up depends on their missing health .

You make it seem like it's a less than one second killshot to everyone.

Except it has to charge up and get to full power to get a kill, and you have to be stationary to use it, so any decent sniper will immediately take you down. Hell, it announces it to anyone around and you can just hide, rendering it useless.

It does have a lack of content (the total maps and gamemodes are super lacking) and there's no custom servers at all.

This is the single biggest problem when you compare Overwatch to TF2.

In team fortress you have the official servers and that's fine. You can easily find hundreds of completely standard servers using the basic maps with total vanilla rules. But if you want to have like 32 people bullshit death matches, consistent groups of people to play with and against just by joining a server, and stupid community made maps those are all available and the main reason TF2 did well for a shooter.

I have probably easily 600+ hours of TF2 over the years of getting into it again and again over the YEARS. With Overwatch I'm a little over 100 hours over the course of going into the Beta on and off and to be honest I'm pretty okay with maybe playing it a little bit on launch (if that) and saying I've had enough.

Overwatch *is* fun enough. At worst it's inoffensive but there's not enough. Without that big community and variety there's nothing really to be found. I like the 6v6 capture the point/payload/king of the hill well enough but I'd honestly like to do something remotely different from time to time and there's nothing there for me. The little tavern brawl mode is certainly not enough to keep the game fresh for a long period of time. Sometimes I really do just want a completely mindless melee only deathmatch or a huge clusterfuck full server fight on a 24/7 turbine map and you can't get that in Overwatch. You can get Blizzard's 6v6 team objective based shooter again and again and again.

It's just Blizzard going "oh no you're going to want to play this way"

Is it just me or this game have no feedback whatsoever when it comes to getting hit?

You'll be in a fight then just fall over just to see the killcam with some guy targeting you for 30 minutes straight

I think it's the combination of no hit markers on yourself and the lag compensation that makes it feel like you just fall over dead from full health at times.

The limited team sizes is what causes me to lose interest as well. Even if they're unbalanced, I love huge-ass battles with dozens of players duking it out with constant carnage.

They have the brawl system that adds modifiers to existing game modes but that it.

Which is far from enough to keep someone interesting if they burn out of the standard game mode. It's always going to be 6v6 objective based mode with X number of differences in modifiers active.

So you're basically hoping that during that week you're given a single interesting game mode (that's just a modified existing game mode) and if not you have to wait for Blizzrad to "finely craft" out a new one the following week.

I played it for awhile. It's alright, not great.

The character voices really get annoying after the thousandth time you've heard each. I wish Blizzard would allow you to disable them. Especially the ones with terrible accents.

Killing someone doesn't really feel very satisfying compared to other games because you're completely spoonfed most of the time you're playing. In most shooters I feel accomplished because I landed a good headshot shot. In Overwatch I just happened to have my cooldowns up.

Also having to wait 4-5 minutes between a match ending, showing the play of the game (that I don't give a shit about), showing me my XP meter (that I don't give a shit about), finding a new match, and so on until I can finally play again is really annoying. There's so much downtime between each 8-10 minute round.

Overall 6/10, wouldn't pay more than $20 for.

CTF and KoTH in TF2 are both fucking garbage and Hydro is the worst Valve-made map by a ridiculous margin, sometimes alternate modes are not conducive to fun.

I'm reading your post and what I'm seeing you say is "I want stupid bullshit on launch and if Overwatch doesn't have it then it's a weaker title than TF2" and I just have to disagree. 32 man servers are cancer, payload is the only decent alternate map mode, and most community maps are so shitty that they're not worth bringing up. The only even somewhat good ones are the ones Xenon made, and they're not real maps, they're just for fucking around, they're definitely not why people like myself spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing at launch and after launch.

The one thing that TF2 will always have over Overwatch is the capacity for the sense of community. With 24 people playing you can have a decent number of regulars constantly dropping in for some matches, but with 6v6 it's a much more intimate setting, we won't see anything like what sprung up around TF2 with the community servers, even if Blizzard were to somehow make them possible. You're expected to play with your friends, much like in League and dota, not with a bunch of people from a community group. However, 6v6 is not inherently bad, and you can't bitch just because they've made a game that doesn't align completely with one you've already played before. If you want TF2, go play TF2, it's not Blizzard's job to make TF3.
