These textures are just 2mega4u.

Something's up with the drivers or your computer.

Significantly weaker cards than a 970 could run that game at 60fps, no problem.

do you know how perfect you have to time that screenshot? and that only happens right when you load. by the way most games use some sort of variation of megatextures because of that game.

That texture is always like that, and there are a lot of little props with insanely bad texture resolution because they're sharing one texture map with everything else in the level. This is what the pop-in in Rage looks like.

Also, the feature you're thinking of is TEXTURE STREAMING, not Megatextures. And it wasn't invented by idtech5 at all; games have done it since Unreal Engine. Not even id uses Megatextures any more.

The dead city was especially obnoxious with its low texture and model quality to the point that I actually got some slight headaches from them.

All the little static clutter items like this look particularly bad.

It gets even more ridiculous when relevant objects are between them.
Its almost like a shitty version of a "notice this"-effect.

I lost steam in this game around the time I got to that dude's Tv show with the pit fights against mutants and such.
I liked the way combat felt, and gunplay I enjoyed (that AK felt powerful as fuck) but I lost my motivation to finish it through.
Is it worth it to finish it? I remember hearing the ending was sudden and kinda poorly received. Can you keep playing and exploring or just fuck around after you beat it?

nope

Well damn, that's kinda goofy for an open world like game.

For some reason opening and closing the goddamn inventory screen fucks up the weapon model textures.
How the hell do you even manage to have a glitch like that?
>>
>>334523295
It's barely even open world and more like levels that are connected through a bunch of corridors which are large enough to drive a car through them.

Not to mention that the lighting is completely absent since Rage doesn't feature actual dynamic lighting.
