There's already a D44M wad that has all the guns and sound effects pasted in, plus a few new monsters. The monsters are currently bugged though.
As for D44M proper, they could fix a lot of problems by removing the loadouts and perks. I imagine there will be a mode that does this at some point.

All I wanted from this game was a good campaign where I could shoot some demons.
All I gathered from the multiplayer is that this is the main focus of the game and not the SP campaign, which is really worrying because I agree with all the complaints in this thread.

Keep in mind there are no on map weapons besides Gauss cannon in DOOM so it comes down to comfort and skill. You get EVERYTHING on map in UT and Quake so it is pretty much map pressure the game. I do enjoy them but you can Fucking Rambo mothefuckers in DOOM if you can gun select correctly. Same is true for UT but I just like the gun set ups more in DOOM. I have been in the UT alpha for a while now and I find myself playing more DOOM than UT desu senpai.
