But my choice will ultimately be on what faction i think goes best with my playstyle.
Orc seem to be very much about infantry their cav and artillery suck, their unit as a whole seem worse than the other factions in terms of stats.
So it will be interesting to see how they play.

Vampire Counts are very popular on tabletop. A literally who faction would be Ogres or Tomb Cucks. Vampires are also much closer to the area the game takes place, plus it's nice that a unique and underrepresented faction is getting some time in the limelight. It's a nice departure from tired Humans, Orks/Orcs, Chaos and Elves/Eldar, that has been every Warhammer game ever.

Do we have to explicitly play as 'The Empire' or can we start as a sub-faction?
CA has been trending towards less playable factions and 'culture group' recolor factions for a while now. Ideally I would have liked to see it go the other direction so that each sub-faction would have access to a single unique unit and by conquering the other sub-factions capitals you should gain access to it too. It would make sense for local knightly orders and give incentive to try and unify your race.

What would even be the point. Military-wise LotR is just Warhammer with all of the new, interesting stuff removed and half the factions.
