It isn't at all. Compared to other hobbies, vidya has a low barrier of entry. You can get a craptop and do nothing but emulate PS1 and earlier titles and have an absolute blast. Vidya is a hobby accessible at all price ranges.
Once you get through the initial investment, vidya gives fantastic price per hour of entertainment compared to movies
